**** him.

That's another reason that Colt firearms is now mfg. their AR-15's in Texas.

It is probably safe to say that Rupert Murdoch would never give them (without getting into it) the time of day.

There is a lot of history behind Texas Motor Speedway. It involves two of the most powerful billionaires' that rule NASCAR stock car racing - The France family (ISC) and Bruton Smith (SMI).

Someone mentioned Rockingham in his or her post not too long ago.

The lawsuit between France and Smith was over a promise to grant another date at Texas Motor Speedway - The federal lawsuit, which involves Rockingham, New Hampshire and Texas, had the potential of blowing up the foundations of France's empire.

Smith could not sue NASCAR, but one of the biggest shareholder’s of SMI stock could, and filed a lawsuit against NASCAR.

If you know anything about the bad relationship between France and Smith that spans over fifty years – Then, you know Smith was behind the (collusion) case.

Quote:

In early spring 2004 the outlines of a possible out of court settlement in the suit against NASCAR for an additional cup race at TMS had begun to emerge. Under the terms of the reported accord, ISC, the France-family-controlled operator of 12 major racetracks, would sell its Talladega, Alabama, and Darlington, South Carolina, speedways to SMI. If this sale were to go through, it was widely reported, SMI would take two of the cup race dates from the newly acquired ISC tracks and transfer them to existing SMI tracks—namely, TMS and Las Vegas Speedway. This would give SMI the second cup race for TMS that it had long pursued.

I am not so sure - There are not a lot of cautions at this track.

I could be wrong. It should be interesting to see how the Gen car runs here.

Wait- Smith was gonna buy Talladega (Talladega!) just to give one of its race dates to ****ing Vegas?

BTW, Bruton Smith is the Al Davis of NASCAR, IMO. Always with a lawsuit or some other shenanigans brewing.

chefsos: you have to read the story - It is very interesting.

France and Smith compete against each other. From what I remember, France tricked Smith into taking over a couple of these tracks with the promise of giving SCI tracks a second date. Smith's tracks are the best.

Bobby Labonte has stomach flu and may have to get out of the car. If I'm the relief driver, I want that seat checked for runny shit stains before I get in.

Remember when Tony Stewart had diarrhea during the race? They announced it during the race...And he won! LMAO

Hey, mlyonsd.

I'm not sure. FOX announcers never said a word about it.

Edit: This is what I found out since I did not have time to read the article above.

They had to pull the rears - They just made it through and to the grid.

Looked to me like the cars on the grid sat there a long time running while they pushed the other cars out. Could be wrong.

Penske.

Actually, the Fox guys were talking about it as the 22 was being pushed back out to the grid (he had to start at the rear because the car wasn't out of tech on time) and that both cars had to change rears after failing inspection. I think it had to do with the offset (you know, dog-tracking) being out of spec.

chefsos 04-13-2013 07:40 PM

Kurt Busch out. He's an asshole, but it's still a shame when a competitive small team gets a bad break.

Actually to be fair if my seat belt came unhooked when doing 190mph in the middle of 40 other cars I'd scream like a girl and quite possibly shit my pants.

Dylan 04-13-2013 07:40 PM
