Lots of folks have been clamoring for Lamb to get a shot over the last several weeks as the rotation had been a mess.

But I don't remember Heyman touting the Royals prospects prior to today. I don't think he's any more tuned in to the Royals farm system than the local guys and some of the posters here.

Maybe he's hearing all this from the Reds perspective?

He'd be perfect.

It was a great trade. Half of the point of having a good farm system is to be able to make these trades. Cueto is going to own in KC

Ortiz just blasted a bomb. The Red Sox are beating the Tigers 4-1 in the 5th now.

Then again, if the Tigers lose they'll be 48-50, which is what the Royals were before the Ibanez meeting last year.

Anything can happen in a short series. Anything.

If the Giants can win 3 World Series with average to dogshit offenses in five years, if the 2006 Cardinals, who won 83 games, can beat the Mets and Tigers w/o HFA in either series with Josh Kinney, Randy Flores, Josh Hancock, and Tyler Johnson playing pivotal roles in the bullpen and if the 2004 Red Sox can win eight straight games against two teams who won over 100 games, then anything can happen.

How badly were they outscored?

They scored 59 runs, while their opponent has scored 59 runs.

Exactly.

I don't give a **** about the NL until the WS. Once the Royals get there, then I'll worry about who they're facing. I do ****ing hate the Dodgers, though. $300M payrolls are ****ing stupid

Heh, that's funny. I was too lazy to look it up

Tigers already had their team meeting.

I don't see much competition in the AL against the Royals aside from maybe the Angels.

We've had these arguments before, but PB is purely an offensive guy. He thinks offense is the most important thing by far. I think pitching, especially starting pitching, is. Although I'll concede the Royals bullpen is so ridiculously good it negates some of that.

Still you're right, that's what I like about baseball... you can win different ways if you are playing to your strengths at a high level. There have been teams that mash the ball, teams with terrible offenses but good pitching, teams with speed and defense. It makes the game interesting.

If Zobrist is trade target 1A, Prado would be 1B. Either of those guys would be a great addition, but I dont know their contract situations. I assume they would be rentals, just like Cueto. If thats the case, I wouldnt want to give up much for either one of them except maybe Starling plus some chode.

Tigers getting pounded.
