Your fart must have really stunk, Lew.

Lo walks at a rate of 1 walk every 17 PA's... however this is a sample size (he only has 425 Plate Appearances in his career).

Frenchy walks at a rate of 1 walk every 19.6 PA's.

Lo's averages in the Minors were much different.

He averaged 1 walk every 11.5 PA's which is fabulous.

Frenchy in the minors averaged 1 walk every 17.5 PA's.

Given time, Lo's Walk rate and on base percentage will increase.. He has the track record for it. The guy hasn't even accumulated enough at bats over his career to equal a complete ML season as of yet. It'll undoubtedly improve.

I hope so, Zeke.

The caveat is obviously, that he can stay healthy.

Rany made a good point while answering a question:

Quote:

Adam Pearce (@pearcead): What will you be looking for once the season starts (i.e. Hosmer’s ability to hit inside pitches) to believe the Royals have a chance?

What will I be looking for? Wins. Specifically, a winning April. It would have symbolic significance, given that the franchise has had just three winning Aprils in the last 23 years. But it would also have immense practical value, because here is the Royals schedule from April 30th until June 2nd:

vs. Tampa Bay (3)
vs. White Sox (3)
@ Baltimore (3)
vs. Yankees (3)
@ Angels (3)
@ Athletics (3)
@ Houston (3)
vs. Angels (3)
vs. St. Louis (2)
@ St. Louis (2)
@ Texas (3)

There’s a breather in there against the Astros, but aside from that, the easiest series of the bunch could be the one against the Yankees. Seriously. (Assuming Granderson and Teixeira aren’t back by that point.)

The Royals don’t have to come out of the gate like they did in 2003, but if they’re 10-14 when the Rays come to town, they could already be in selling mode by the time they leave Texas.
The Royals have to win in April, because we've got a pretty tough May.

May is the definitely going to be the most telling month. The rest doesn't look SO bad.
