I predicted Ken Harvey would be like tony Gwynn because he was a fat black dude. It looked ok for half of his rookie season. :doh!:

News: The Mets have been trying to put a package together that would get them Gil Meche from Kansas City, according to the New York Post.

Impact: Meche seems like he'd be a decent buy-low candidate after an injury-riddled season last year where he also struggled when healthy. He'd been pretty darn solid the previous two seasons in Kansas City and still should have at least a few seasons left in the tank at 31 years of age, so we'll see if the Mets can put enough on the table to entice the Royals.

News: Arguelles, a 19-year-old left-hander who last year defected from Cuba, agreed to a five-year, $7 million major league deal with the Royals on Saturday, Yahoo Sports reports.

Impact: The contract is contingent upon Arguelles passing a physical. The Royals still must clear a spot on their 40-man roster. Arguelles is a 6-3 lefty with a mid-90s fastball, an above average curve and a changeup that can function as an out pitch. He likely will start out in Single-A, but could move up rapidly.

It was also rumored that the Royals and Cubs are in negotiations to swap Meche and Milton Bradley.

My instinct would be to say, "Yeah, right."

But we're the team that traded for Betancourt.

I would not want Milton Bradley as a Royal. The dude is seriously messed up in the head.

Our pitching is bad enough as it is. I don't want to give up Gil, unless we get a really good prospect.

LOVE the signing of the Cuban kid! Hope it works out!

We should be looking to move Gil. Absolutely the right move, especially considering how Dumb and Dumber have abused him.

Sure-Oz 12-07-2009 07:11 PM

We should move Meche esp after last year, he blew that ****ers arm out.

Bradley will fake an injury before he comes here

Sure-Oz 12-07-2009 07:15 PM

Apparently we are looking at Rod Barajas and Jason Kendall at catcher to go along with pudge

good god

CHENZ A! 12-07-2009 07:36 PM

I'll take Barajas over Buck that's for damn sure. Probably take Kendall over Buck too even though he's like 50 yrs old now.

Kendall? Did they ever re-attach that mother****er's foot?

Reaper16 12-07-2009 07:56 PM

Buck > Pudge, Barajas & Kendall. Sadly.

I believe EJ Hendersons femur is being donated to create a new ankle for Kendall.
