Womble weebled and finally fell down.

Not a great game by France but sometimes you need to win games like this. They're obviously not worried about Morocco.

I can see either Argentina or Croatia beating France. I didn't one week ago.

This is hilarious, the ref has been absolutely terrible.

Womble was the one questioning if you were really from England, not me. You don’t have to incessantly bitch about the referees all game just to prove it.

Haha, come on now, I'm not the only one pointing out how awful he was. If you honestly didn't think there was a foul on Kane, peno or not, then...well.

But I've been pretty clear about England's chances. I thought we were a good not great team with few truly elite players and probably a better team than a group of individuals. Not surprised we lost to France, just surprised we were better than them and should have won it.

Too bad for England… France weren’t very good today. Weird subs for England and no goals in open play. Just didn’t do enough.

Fair assessment if you don’t understand tactics and how conservatively France was playing after the quick goal. Same could be said about the US vs Netherlands match, but England fans would laugh at that assessment.

I also said the ref was consistent and said nothing about how good the ref was.. The “foul” on Kane was the same “foul” on Mbappe at the end of the match in the corner. He was consistently letting them play and England refused to adapt and still went down every time they felt a finger or wind gust.

Think it's fair to say France attack in spurts and like England tend to benefit from speed in transitions and the occasional moving through the gears. The former is something England do well, the latter not so much. It's why I thought, and still do, that France is a better team. But they weren't better tonight, just silly to pretend otherwise. They didn't sit back to conserve and soak it up, they were on the back foot and commiting clumsy foul after foul. They also benefitted from a missed penalty. Hernandez was absolutely pantsed all game, it wasn't conservative it was England (for once) having urgency and causing them problems.

I think towards the end England were looking to milk some decisions, which, frankly, was a silly approach with this ref.

tough one for england. they were better overall but kane just bottled that pen.

probably an unpopular opinion but i quite like this english side, for more than england teams of the past.
