KU is considered CBB royalty, though. Winning championships is pretty hard. Royalty is defined by the ability to be in position to win it year in and year out. Very few schools have more NC's than KU. Only 2 have won more games in the history of CBB. But we already know this.

Zach said it better than I, though similar. I'm interested to find out why you only quote part of my post and left this out:

From my view, I see a lot of KU fans, both good (Guru, Lzen, etc) and douchbags alike scared shitless that they are about to be left out in the cold, and the douchebags will say just about anything to rationalize it.
Enjoy the Mountain West.

LOL, yes it would.

Pitt State used to be huge rivals with Missouri Southern. At the time, Northwest wasn't the program they are now and weren't really rivals with PSU. Once Missouri Southern went into the toilet and Northwest became a power, they became Pitt's rivalry. Southern became another game.

It wouldn't be exactly like that, but if MU went to the Big 10 and KU sucked at everything, I doubt Missouri would care about KU that much.

Zach said something completely different from what you said. I agree with Zach, I didn't agree with you. I'll let you figure out the difference on your own.

Yeah, all it takes is a good "Burn your town to the ground" party to get a rivalry started round these parts. /Frazod.

I would generally agree with Pitt Gorilla. I think Kansas\Missouri is unique though. More often than not the rivalry dies if one or both schools is shit in things that matter. But this is a different breed of rivalry.

So if we do go to the Big10, what town should be take out?

I don't think you could "take out" a city in Michigan even if you wanted. heh.

This is not at all the point I was trying to make. I was trying to say that MU fans would act just like KU/UNC/UK fans act when it comes to CBB if our roles were reversed. All of a sudden, you were saying that it wouldn't be a rivalry if KU sucked at everything and MU was CBB royalty.

This is the Big 12's Cuban Missile Crisis.

That I used slightly different words to make a point that you ignored?

You centered on the "basketball royalty" part of the post, and ignored the rationalization part. Hard to connect the two when you ignore part of the post.

It's that "royalty" that clouds the KU douchebag perspective.

Again, keep in mind I'm not classifying all KU fans as douchebags here. We all know who they are.

You could be right, but if KU sucked at everything and continued to suck at everything, how long would you care about what they were doing? What in the world would their fans talk smack about?

There are to many instances where the fans live and work together to let it die. My perspective could be clouded by living in KC. This town is cauldron for KU\MU fans.

Same thing MU fans have done for years. Talking shit whenever KU fails during one of their championship runs. Buying other schools' apparel to remind KU fans of what happened, things like that. You're acting like you were born yesterday.

I'm not sure whether you attended MU or not, but if you attend one of the schools and care about sports at all and actually make roadtrips to Columbia/Lawrence, the hatred stays forever. What other schools' fans do you see throw batteries at the opposing school's fans? What about empty bottles at the marching band. I just don't think you understand what kind of shit goes on at either school when it comes to KU vs MU.
