The Frenchy Quarter t-shirt promotion is starting to look Tony Pena Jr. bobblehead bad.

Please name the 3/4 of major league teams that have 4 starters better than Bruce Chen. Unless by 3/4ths you meant 3 OR 4, you are clearly an idiot.

On 610 this afternoon Nick Wright was asking aloud if raising a child to be a Royals fan is a mild form of child abuse?

He may have a point....

I wonder what kind of settlement I could get from my father?

KK has started to bang the drum for Dan Glass to be replaced as Pres. Good point. Usually this is a role reserved for someone who knows something about baseball.

DeezNutz 04-23-2012 05:28 PM

OK, so I ripped the Royals for pointlessly running in the 8th yesterday. Now listen to Rany rip the organization a new asshole. First 7 minutes or so. Damn, this would almost justify Yost's firing:

New rules for draft and Latin America mean that Royals are forced to spend approximately 10 million less this year, which means that the ML payroll will necessarily increase at least that amount, right?

Rany (20:00 mark): http://www.stationcaster.com/player_...c=374&f=501231

Clark Hunt says--similar to our salary cap. Money in the bank

Here's a case where a team's WAR winning percentage can be more telling than its current record. Judging by wins and losses alone, the Royals have been atrocious. But their offensive line of .254/.316/.408 is pretty close to league average and their pitching hasn't been disastrous. The problem has been when the hits have come: Kansas City has hit just .198 in high-leverage situations. The Royals don't have to play much better in order to start winning games -- they just need to start coming through in the clutch.

The Royals are 7th in the FanGraphs power rankings. SEVENTH. LOOK AT THOSE STATS.

If that doesn't say something about how the team is being managed, then I don't know what does.

Pretty much the same way as raising your children to be Chiefs fans.

I've come to realize that my use of Gary Thurman as my avatar has been the cause of this start. I've now replaced him with GB, who represents a much happier era of Royals baseball.

A new streak begins tonight fellas

luck? Balderdash, stop talking about that bad luck nonsense. He's doing poorly because he can't run, bunt, or do any of the "little things" ™

pfft, those stats are worthless. The only stat worth anything are pitching wins.

If you absolutely must have more stats than that, then I suppose batting average and RBI's are good, solid stats you can depend on, too.

Chiefspants 04-24-2012 10:56 AM

I'll be honest, I hope the losing continues, it's clear to me now that all of the talent on this roster will be stuck in neutral as long as Yost is in charge.

Chen currently has a 2.52 ERA, but that won't last. He'll be up in the low to mid 4's before the AS Break.

And he's O-2.

He's had a couple of good starts lately, but he's a career journeyman. The Royals are his 11th different team. He's a slighly over .500 pitcher in the NL and a below .500 pitcher in the AL with a career ERA around 5.

If you think he'd start for St. Louis, or the Yanks, or the Dodgers, or the Giants, or the Nats, or Philly, or a host of other teams, than you're the one that is an idiot.

Dude is a poor man's Jamie Moyer at best. He's OK as a #5 starter, but not much more than that.
