What teams would NOT trade managers with us right now?
Houston, LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, and Seattle. Anyone else? NYRB maybe. The LA fans call for Bruce Arena's head pretty much every time they lose too. Btw, Sporting kicked the shit out of all those teams this year except Houston.

Just saw Rob's Tweet about working with PV to get an extension. Dislike. Oh well, I'll just plan on enjoying the regular season and know we are not going to win a MLS title any time soon.

And yet, EACH OF THOSE TEAMS IS STILL ALIVE...

not shouting.

Robb says today he is working on an extension for Peter Vermes.

Sporting's record against teams that made the playoffs: 10-4-4. 2 of the losses and 2 of the draws were against Houston. Sporting was 11-4-4 against teams that did not make the playoffs.

That looks to me like Sporting dominates everybody but Houston. I Believe That Will Change.

And really, I don't believe that game day coaching is that important anyway. SKC's system is designed to flow, it isn't doesn't need to be rearranged all the time because it does that anyway.

Houston isn't beating us because Kanear is some genius. Houston is winning because they are a matchup nightmare. They have a top goalkeeper, two above average center backs, they are big and tall, great on set pieces (both offense and defense), and they foul the shit out of everybody - but are generally cagey enough to get away with it. They play on a small field that is literally built to keep us from playing our game of width. And they have two pretty damn good goal poachers that can counter attack.

But they are getting older (minus Bruin), SKC is getting better (because of Vermes).

One piece away. :)

Only one team can win, I'd take SKC vs. any of the teams in the playoffs but Houston. That is a pretty good start.

They are only a matchup nightmare if you try to play against them the same way you do against everybody else. You HAVE to be able to adjust. Lobbing crosses in against those CBs doesn't work. There were a few times the back post was open against Sarkodie, but we have to be able to pass the ball around and break them down that way. Tactics -- we no has them.

A 17 year old league.

This is great.

I was really rooting for Sporting Kansas City last night.. for the first time honestly.

Awesome. Now maybe make it to a game next year and you will be hooked. How many other professional sports or teams have thousands people seranading their team and trying to console them and each other after a disappointing loss. I have never seen anything like it.

Whar an epic second half to NYRB v. DCU. Red cards, missed pk, last minute goal. Just great entertaining soccer. The downside, I actially am getting sad about SKC season ending. Realizing they are sitting at home it hit me. We wasted an amazing opportinity to host two more games this season. I am now an honorary DCU fan. I want them to fry Houston.

I have been by the stadium quite a few times. I went to a Wizards game back in the day.

I know most people here don't like them, but I'm happy to say the Sounders scored their first goal in the last 5 games against Salt Lake setting up a Western Conference Finals matchup against the defending champs, L.A Galaxy. They went into SLC and scored a goal in the 81st minute winning the aggregate series 1-0.

A couple of nice storylines will be Seattle playing an LA team that just beat them in Seattle to end the season which hurt Seattle's seeding for the playoffs. There was also a blurb in the LA Times a couple of days ago saying LA would be meeting SLC in the conference finals, so the Sounders are obviously using that as some bulletin board material. "We're sorry to disappoint them." LOL

First game is Sunday in L.A.

Well it took 48 hours but I'm officially in a season's over funk. Guess staying busy working two jobs was good medicine for the soul yesterday. Sometimes I think knowing your team sucks and having the season end at a regularly scheduled time, like the Chiefs and Royals always do, is the preferable way vs. this abrupt and unexpected ending.

Seeing the remaining teams left just makes it worse. I can just see Seattle saying 'so we lost the USOC, we won the MLS cup.' And those inbred punks from Houston better not win the freakin cup.

Sorry. Must be the alcohol talking...My margarita needs more limes:D.

30 mins before the Houston game.

Love the Cauldron.

Both southstands and Cauldron were loud as hell. I think southstands were just flat out screaming because for shots chant all I heard was screaming.

The first 20 mins of that game were the loudest I have heard the stadium. Incredible energy.
