I bought some Gucci boots the other day off of craigslist for $125. They were going on ebay for like $325 and apparently new in the store $600.

any of you w/ medium shorter hair that ride a spiked or manipulated style that are looking for a good product, this is the one. Best I've used since 'fudge' products (ALA 1997.)
Clever Black Matte finished jar, w/ a smart 'quick-flip' top/cap. it doesn't take much of this. It IS something you have to 'WORK' in your hair for a while, i think the warmth will help it 'optimize' it's control. It's precious too, because you can hold it in your left hand as you crunch in your style w/ your right. BEHOLD!: http://i52.tinypic.com/2dkafdv.jpg |
normally I'm not a TIGI fan, but this was a masterpiece, long over-due - IMO
Also, It's like 18$ per. - seems high, but this stuff lasts for four mos. So not so high, really. I'm high though. |

Well, I'm not style challenged, in fact I have pretty good style, I'd like to think. However, I am perplexed on this latest issue. I could use some help!
I'm meeting the long-distance gf for her best-friends wedding, and she is the maid of honor. I'd like to look good, since we obviously don't get to see each other as often as other couples. I will also be meeting friends and family this go around, so I need to not look like a slapdick. She will be wearing a "jade" colored dress. The exact color can be found here:http://www.davidsbridal.com/Browse_B...colorName=Jade Now, I'm not trying to "match" her dress, but I'd like to look good standing next to her, dancing, pictures, etc... so the colors need to not clash or look stupid. The reason I am in a pinch is because one of my normal, go-to colors (light blue) won't work on this go-around. Right now, Im thinking gray suit, white shirt, black tie. My concern is that it is too simple. Colors that go well with Jade are silver, black, gold, cream, white, and pink. My style: I am dark blonde, with light blue eyes, and moderately tan. I never wear yellow and pretty much steer clear of earth tones (browns, tan, dark green). I wear a tapered, euro-style suit with a slim tie when I dress suit-nice. I keep it simple, not a lot of crazy designs, mostly solid colors, with the occasional argyle tie. Suit: Since it's a spring wedding, and I'd rather not look like I'm attending a funeral or prom, a black suit won't do. Because of her color, navy blue is out as well. I've pretty much settled on light gray, and am leaving the door open for a graphite gray (with a hint of shine). Any other options? Belt/shoes: If the suit is gray, then Black. Simple enough. Shirt/Tie: Now, in another situation, I would be open to a faint pink shirt, but I'd hate to make a douche impression and be "that guy" in pink. So, is my only option a white shirt? And the tie decision will be settled after the shirt is picked. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not insecure with the relationship whatsoever, I'm purely concerned with looking like an asshole in front of everyone in her life. I want to look good for her sake, so thanks in advance for any assistance. |

I'd go with a very light yellow shirt, so light it is almost off white.

If you're trying to go as vanilla as possible, your original option of white shirt/black tie isn't a bad one.
You're pretty limited on shirt options - white is the way to go IMO. I wouldn't go with any shade of yellow because it will make you look jaundiced in all of the pictures, and for ****'s sake, why would you even consider a pink shirt with her dress? If you're worried that your ensemble is too boring, pick out a good tie and some cufflinks. Take a pic of her dress with you to the store and match it against some ties to find colors that you like that also won't look dumb with her dress. Get one with a pattern, like a light paisley, or at least a little texture to the design. If you're just going to wear a solid color, you may as well save the cash and stick with the black tie you already mentioned. And don't neglect the shoes/belt. The proper accessories can carry an otherwise average look. |
