Uh, I'm speechless.

Other than Muir and possibly the special teams coach, I don't see any upgrades on the staff. I think losing David Gibbs will hurt. And as for Krumrie, Pendergast and Gibbs, blech.

For some reason, I'm extremely concerned about the draft after today's events...

Does anyone here still think the Chiefs will win more than 5 games in 2009?

Agreed. Major credibility hit here. Still, player-personnel is a different matter. I still think it will be improved.

There's a difference in good fan and homer to a ridiculous level fan.

you got proof to back up that first statement?

i only think there are a handful of shitty fans.

Just about.

The problem is, there aren't enough guys available to replace them that would provide any immediate upgrades.

The Chiefs have the most talent depleted roster in the NFL.

6-26 should say it all.

I still think they can challenge for the division next season.

Not this shit again...

I said that LJ had his 3rd best YPC average of his career, and that he would have has a decent season had they used him. Giving a guy with a 4.5 average 3-4 carries in the 2nd half of games you're LEADING is not very smart.

4.5 a carry is a pretty solid average.

Fans generally would do just that. That is why they are called "fanatics" of the team. Most people who are fanatical about something don't sit around and bitch about that thing all the time.

Jason really should go to WPI he'd fit in well.

Somehow this got entered way back in the thread. Interesting quirk. Let me re-post it:

2006: 40
2007: 26
2008: 24

YPC (AGAINST):

2004: 3.6
2005: 4.5
2006: 4.7
2007: 4.4
2008: 4.3

It's pretty clear that Krumrie wasn't the 'problem' with that Buffalo line. So, what significant move happened between 2004 and 2005, when the numbers for the run defense jumped up and have never recovered?

Pat Williams went to Minnesota.

Shockingly, we also see that the drop in the sack production happened after Krumrie was gone completely from the team and Schobel's play went into decline, from 14 sacks to 6 sacks to just 1 sack and 5 games this past season.
