Started watching this on Netflix a few days ago - I'm almost through the first season. Very enjoyable show (agree about the slow 300-ripoff start). Bummer knowing that the lead guy is dead, but I think Chuckler will make a fine replacement.

I really liked season 1, season 2 without Spartacus even better IMHO.

I'm really enjoying the revelation of Batiatus's true nature. He initially comes across as some hen-pecked wimp, but finally you realize that he's an ancient, foul-mouthed Michael Corleone. I knew the reunion with Sura would go badly in some fashion (I was expecting something along the lines of her being raped into a vegetative state or horribly disfigured from beatings), but I didn't see THAT coming. Damn!

Great villian.

This exactly. Season two brings that out in a good way.

yea, starting watching the pilot the other night.....couldnt make it past 20 minutes or so. Low budget, 300 ripoff.

Skip the first episode altogether if you like. The series is nothing close to the mediocrity that was 300.

Absolutely great show. The first episode is just to set stuff up.

I finally watched it a few weeks ago when I got a Netflix free trial. Slow beginning, but season one was great.

Definitely worth a second chance. I stopped watching after the first episode the first time, I didn't like the slow motion blood shit. After giving it a second chance, it really is a great show after season 1.

Maybe we'll get a Jupiter's cock or 2 in a flashback or something.

Finished the first season last night. Very satisfying conclusion. :thumb:

I'm gonna miss Andy but hopefully the new guy is good.

I still think the underground fighting episode is my favorite.

Is Season 2 out yet?

Still can't wrap my mind around Andy being dead. Just so sad.
