It would be nice to know he can make it home from 2nd on a sharp liner to left center......

And there is a reason the son of a bitch won't do interviews. Its called a guilty conscience, and he doesn't want to get called on his lies. JaCo taxpayers have every right to be pissed at him. And if i saw the mother ****er in public i would call him on it.

You realize that the Greinke trade was not price related, right? They talked extension again, he said "hell no" and then started talking about not reporting for ST.

and whose fault is it we sucked so bad a competitive guy like Greinke wants out? I completely understand his wanting out. As pissed as I am, I'm just a fan. If i were a player of Zack's caliber id be pissed too if my gm said we wouldn't compete for another two years. Like I said, this season should be free if the team isn't trying to win. Keep making excuses, but don't look for sympathy when they let you down.... Again.

Fault?

1) Pre-dayton David Glass
2) Allard Baird
3) Alex Gordon
4) Trey Hillman/Gil Meche

Add ZG to that list. He's been an underachiever his entire career save one season.

Greinke's been identical to Marcum. Hell, Marcum might be better than Greinke.

People might look back on the Greinke trade & say Dayton Moore fleeced the Brewers.

Any GM with those types of financial limitations would have been a disaster. We're still recovering from Glass neglecting the franchise, so #1-4 should look the same.

Butler signed through 2014.

Glass is the one who has allowed this team to fall into the depths of suck that it is now. He has turned a profit, and that is all he cares about. He fields a bunch of AAAA players, charges major league ticket prices, and collects his revenue sharing check. Because of Glass's philosophy, the big market teams will always have someone to use as an argument against true revenue sharing and the leveling of the playing field.

but hey, KC gets the All Star Game next year!

Yeah, this is pretty much incorrect, a 13-10 record with a 3.47 era would not be a disappointing year for any pitcher.

Yeah... you obviously haven't paid attention to our payroll, because this statement is clearly wrong.

I don't know what happened to him, my theory is that David Glass was kidnapped by space-aliens right before DM was hired and replaced with a look-alike, because he is acting like a new owner.

The length of the contract is perfect as far as I'm concerned. He's a good hitter who has publicly put himself out there as a loyal soldier for the team. On the other hand, he also won't have a position when Hosmer comes up.

4 years at a $7.5MM AAV for a good DH sounds about right.

My guess: he's getting so much in terms of revenue sharing that other owners forced him to spend a respectable amount.

Add to that the fact that DM turned down the job multiple times because the franchise was at "joke level," which was an eye-opening moment.

Regardless, over the next 5 years, our ML payroll is going to need to get to MN Twins level.
