Brand new Budd Dwyer. If you were to emulsify (note to work emulsify into future band name) my entire music collection, save for my Trojan box sets, this is what would pour out. Brilliant blend.

Has anyone bought or listened to ABR's newest album - Rescue and Restore?

I dig the album though... Not my AOTY though, not even close. |
So now that Deafheaven's album has been out a whole, I'll pose a question to the CP metal fans. Is it as good as the hype, or is the hype caused by the atypical image of Deafheaven (pink album art, cheery album and song titles) causing hype among fans who are not actually metal fans?
This thought crossed my mind after seeing "Sunbather" getting tons of votes for best song of the summer. I mean, if it were a typical metal album cover and title, I don't think people would be saying it was a "summer anthem." |

Constellations would be so hard to beat. But, the songs from R&R that I gave a whirl last night were really good. |
Coke Bust, D.C. straight edge in KC tonight, early show.

Local badass collection, Shawn James and the Shapeshifters, has out a new video for first release off their album. It's pretty awesome:

Giving the new Sigur Ros a spin. I'm digging the heavier use of drums and bass. Only listened through about three times now, but I can put this one on repeat and dig it from start to finish so far.

2 tracks from the Spine/The Repos split coming out next month. Spine (1st song) represents KC. Likely to be one of the hardest splits of '13.

Ever had an album that you've tried to shake from your rotation?
Not because you didn't enjoy it. Just because you didn't want to burn yourself out on it. That's where I'm at with Shields by Grizzly Bear. I just can't bring myself to stop playing it. |
