Good for him. Dude's had a productive year and can play (just not 3-4 end).

However, what evidence do we have that Pioli would make any other moves that would aid Smith in his development? But we have loads of evidence to suggest that Pioli would reaffirm a twisted, counter-productive environment at Arrowhead which makes it tough for anyone to succeed.

I hear ya. I feel exactly the same way.

Winning cures all problems with the fans.

Always have!

Always will, you win, the fans will show up for games.

I can't see a great HC and a great draft in the future for a Pioli run team.

I can't either. That is why I have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach right now.

But stranger things have happened... I suppose....

There is a fundamental problem with the, "if the Chiefs start playing well, you'll be back" notion. I mean, it sounds right, but there's a flaw in the implied logic.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that Pioli can foster an environment, hire a head coach, draft the proper talent, or organize the overall effort in such a way as to cause the Chiefs to "start playing well". None. Zero.

In fact, all available evidence points clearly to the fact that Pioli is an incompetent imbecile whose personal, psychological problems inhibit any potential ability he may possess in that regard.

This, dear friends, is year 4 of his goal to "build a champion" and "consistently play for championships". Good God in Heaven. At a minimum, we may thank our lucky stars that his objective wasn't simply to "compete with marginal teams" because, if it were, we would be selling the franchise to the Mexicans.

I still don't have a problem with Hunt. He hired what seemed the obvious choice for GM. He's got the same problem his dad had, just too loyal.

How many people here have pointed out that with a legit QB and HC you can succeed? And if you have a super star QB you may not even need that great a HC. The GM and owner are out of the equation at that point.

Not saying that is the way I would like to see it but, it does not change the fact it could still work.

I'm not talking about 4 years ago. Agreed, at the time it appeared to be the right move. But we have a ton more evidence now. If Clark doesn't make this move, he's David Glass to me. With just about as likely of a chance to ever win big also... Yeah, I'd have a problem with that type of owner.

I can only hope you aren't referring to all the rumors as evidence.

Pioli missed twice on hiring a good Head Coach
Pioli blew it on getting a good QB
Pioli has a losing record in KC

Now that's enough to get a GM fired, no doubt.

after that, it's pretty much rumor mongering bullshit

You really believe that Babb and Whitlock are making up the reports about the introductory dinner?

"Arrowhead Anxiety" is rumor mongering bullshit, written by a journalist now employed by The Post?

These are facts.

If Pioli is retained, then I can kiss goodbye to this team winning a SB in my lifetime. Clark will have proven himself to be a terrible, gullible owner, with no concept of how to run a team. The Hunts certainly aren't going to sell. I was so looking forward to having something to cheer for again...

Laz has a bigger crush on Pioli than Clark Hunt does.
