This is where some might say, "this is a new regime, we have no idea what they will do, they'll get it right".

Which is absolutely true.

But as a Chiefs fan, sorry, but we've been down that road. Show me and I'll trust you.

Yep.

There's nothing wrong with that statement.

But I've been through DOZENS of new regimes and to date, they've all been the same.

This is the first time we have a regime that knows what they are doing.

King Carl and Pioli were the same. They were both SCARED to draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round. They had to get a free agent QB they liked and try to find a guy they wanted.

This regime is not scared to take a QB early and put their reputation on him. They also know how to develop a QB.

You can take out Reid and Dorsey and enter Peterson and Marty , etc.

Again, sorry, but SHOW ME.

The more I watch film on these quarterback prospects though, I can't with 100% certainty say I would be ridiculously upset if we ended up with Joeckel or Star and Dysert/Nassib, especially given that we have a coach that I have the utmost confidence in to develop his own quarterback.

Geno definitely sticks out to me in terms of the top talent at the QB position in this draft, but I've finally come to the conclusion that I'm not going to panic if they don't go QB at #1. That's just me, and I want a stud QB as bad as the next person.

No you don't.

If you don't want to sacrifice what it takes and endure the potentially lengthy process of drafting QBs until they get it right, then you DON'T want a stud QB as much as everybody else. That means QB isn't as important to you as it is for other people.

I understand your frustration, but wow these guys are polar opposites.

Reid especially is the opposite of conservative.

There has not been a draft in the history of the NFL that had ZERO QBs in it.

It's NEVER happened.

These guys get payed to find "the one".

Which guy was "the one" in 1997?

Jim Druckenmiller
Jake Plummer
Danny Wuerffel
Pat Barnes
Mike Cherry
Chuck Clements
Tony Graziani
Koy Detmer
Wally Richardson
Tony Corbin
Ronnie McAda

As evidenced by the fact that Reid tried to trade up to get him in the draft.

Did Reid try to trade up to get Brandon Albert the LT or Brandon Albert the G? Personally, I think you're probably right, but I'm not sure that evidence is rock solid.

Edit: I see this has already been pointed out.

I'll throw in 2010 as well.

Bradford was clearly not worth the top pick, let alone a top 15 selection, Tebow sucks and so does Claussen.

Sorry, but we've heard this before. Pioli turned out to be awful, but when he was brought in it was "he knows how to build a roster, he'll get it done". Same shit with Peterson.

It has nothing to do with conservative aggressive etc.

Until they do it here and don't make the same mistakes as previous regimes, I'll wait and see.

Pasta Little Brioni 02-18-2013 06:03 PM

Still, you never know until you actuall try. Stop with the excuses for not taking one. We've failed for decades trying it the other way.

I personally believe Plummer could've been the guy, but Arizona ****ed his head up with nothing around him. Then after that stint he had an average career.

Levi Brown - 4 playoff wins
D-Brickashaw Ferguson - 1 playoff win
Robert Gallery - 0 playoff wins
Mike Williams - 0 playoff wins
