Veach is KILLING it this offseason.

He transformed a salary cap mess from John Dorsey into nearly $30 million in salary cap space... got a talented young CB + draft picks back for Alex Smith and now is aggressively landing free agents (something the Chiefs NEVER could do under Dictator Carl/Fat Scott/Dorsey).

I don't blame Veach for the Marcus Peters situation (I think he did the best he could with a situation that was beyond his control, a situation I still believe was dictated partially by Clark Hunt), but as of now (and obviously we'll see what happens in the draft) Veach has put together an offseason masterpiece thus far.

He's 24 and accepted a 3-year deal. That's enough money to make you happy, but also a short enough deal to motivate him to play for the next contract. Qb definitely matters.

Don't forget the nfl rushing leader who can finally run against 7 in a box, and is yet another underneath option.
