I don't doubt that there has been or could be corruption. Some games could be officiated in a way to "nudge" the outcome to a desired result. Anything is possible. That's why I don't lump you in with nut jobs like Rabble Rouser, BlackOp and smellypitts, who believe that the entire thing is scripted like professional wrestling.

Those guys are loons.

Through the years, you'd run into people that were passionate about it being fake and wondering how anyone could waste their time believing it might be real. Similar to what a few of you are doing in this thread with tall the talk of the NFL being rigged and the faithful fans being brainless twits.

Difference was, those that made fun of wrestling never spent that much time watching it and had there been Internet forums back then, I doubt seriously they would have spent any time online wasting time debating it with people they view as beneath them or mindless drones simply 'marching to the beat of their master's drum'. They just carried on with their lives.

Pitts and Ops specifically... it just sounds like you hate the product and distrust the league so much, why spend any time debating it and denouncing it? Why waste your time and your money? It sounds so insane to devote this much time on something so obviously corrupt, in your view.

I know, the simple response is "this coming from a Broncos' fan on a Chiefs' board"... get past that and maybe examine what's wrong in your lives that this is how you fill that void. The two of you share this talk track that is a bit comical at times. And, since its the off-season, others are buying in to the discussion... the game has obviously soured for both of you, so let it go and move on.

Ultimately I dont/no one thinks anyone is brainless. That's just the cut n dry forum speak being used. If you'll notice,i
haven't even used the word "sheeple... ( lol sheeplebot just showed up in autocorrect)

A few of us have already answered your question a few times.
We know it's entertainment and treat it as such. I just know now not have false hope in an outcome both game and season long that 8 know isn't happening because I've already seem the pattern/ formula far too many times and the numbers I've crunched with past team dynasties prove it as the examples I've given.
I've paid attention to sports, so its easy to keep up with. I don't know crap about basketball or baseball or hockey anymore but all I have to do is Google standings and a couple articles and I know who's hot and who's not and I'm all caught up and can easily bullshit my way through a cliche sports conversation because I know all the lingo.
I like sports memorabilia, helmets n such. I'm one of those guys that likes to make uniforms for mlb the show Diamond Dynasty.
I watch the first 3 parts of the baseball history series all the time.
My friends like sports and its great to go out on a man night and be with them. I've seen so called "I hate sports" forums but since those people are the geeks of the world that never even liked sports,I find them boring. The sites are hardly active anyway lol.
I'm still keeping my baseball cards and putting them in sheets. They aren't worth much anyway now since they made so many in the 80s and 90s and everyone has them. Just creative ,fun reminders of the past....and big Afros lol

How come the loons didn't spend a single minute for two weeks (3 weeks in my case, before the Denver,Pats game) thinking Carolina had a chance? I'm pretty sure I was Adamant here that Carolina was beating Seattle as well. I've had more success the last 2 years picking games based on a storyline then on thinking I knew who was favored or better. I picked Bears over Packers on Thanksgiving and Denver over Pats in season with a back up QB when no one else did, among many other games. You can't call it luck when it happens that often.
At the beginning of the year...on twitter, Russell Wilson's official twitter,he tweeted something to the effect of they were already 1-0 before the game started against Rams. I'm sure Seattle was favored and all the money was on them anyway. I picked Rams and I was right. I don't call that luck or a coincidence.
I can't be that lucky going against the grain that much.

Pasta Little Brioni 03-02-2016 12:10 PM

I'm more in the nzoner line of thinking. Money influences the results of many of these games. No doubt about it. Especially this year. Have seen far too many games outcomes decided by "interpretations of rules". "Not necessarily the right call, but the refs pulled it out of their asses anyway and technically it could be a vague rule!!!"

Well, I used to like the sport...but over the past few years what I was suspicious about has become more overt and blatant. I was on a fence but the last two seasons coupled with internet access to the history of the NFL and how's it's legally constructed has led me to souring on it. That and how sports gambling is now a rampant multi-billion dollar monster...

Too many last second heroics, bogus officiating and predictable storylines to take serious now. The billion dollar advertising deal transitioned it into a vehicle for product placement and network ratings. My time invested in this thread is about raising awareness so the sport comes under regulation. There are threads on every football forum questioning this very thing. People are starting to sense something is off... If enough start to lose interest and question it's validity...it will force a change in the structure.

If the NFL wanted Manning to go out on top and the officials were in on it, why was this play ruled a fumble in the AFC Championship Game?

Because passes that go backwards are fumbles.

ROFL

If Manning actually goes to LA this year (it's 2016, btw), it's to sell tickets, jerseys, and PSLs.

It's about $$. His legacy is secure. No one remembers Joe Namath laying face down in the LA dirt, wearing those garish blue and yellows, now do they??

Yeah; they show those replays all the time on NFLNet. Not Super Bowl III.

Which was rigged. As ****.

Don Shula FINALLY puts Unitas in (shades of Marty and Gannon, 1995), AND UNITAS ALMOST PULLS IT OFF.

In fact, down 16-7 in the 4th, Shula ESCHEWS A FG ATTEMPT that would have made the game 16-10 and within reach with an onside kick...

3 years later, he's in South Beach taking the expansion Dolphins to the Super Bowl and the NFL's only perfect season. Unitas gets his in SB V, the worst Super Bowl ever and the worst SB winning team ever...besides maybe the 2015 Broncos.

In fact...Super Bowl 50 was a replay of Super Bowl V. With Peyton ****ing Manning starring as Johnny ****ing U.

Speaking of Johnny U, in 1965 the Colts and Packers finished in a tie for first place in the Western Conference and a one-game playoff was played in Green Bay to decide who would be the conference representative in the 1965 NFL Championship Game. Johnny U got hurt. The Colts lost in overtime 13–10 due in large part to a game-tying field goal by Don Chandler that many who were in attendence say was incorrectly ruled as 'good'.

Makes sense, because by that point, Johnny U was one of the leagues biggest stars, as were Bart Starr and Lombardi's Pack.

Given the choice of a Unitas-less Baltimore team or a star-studded Packer dynasty, the refs called a missed kick 'good' in order to manipulate a desired outcome. What's anyone going to do about it??

Next thing, splatbass is going to tell me about how the NFL is going to do an 'America's Game' on Johnny U's final season in San Diego ROFL

So much money was won. By Vegas.

Seattle, NYG, or GB will represent the NFC

NE or Pitt for the AFC

My money is on Tom Brady for another ring.

Clearly that's what happens when you are on the losing side of the planned outcome. Just not a Carolina year. I'm sure they'll make it up to them.

of course you dont understand. North and south are right next to each other and have large black populations. South Carolina has no pro franchises so they have to use Clemson.

um...who said Denver was winning SB 3 weeks before they did? I did.

I'm not the one changing a narrative. I'm calling it a staged game no matter what form it comes in. Since when is it wrong to analyze why, after it happens? Its the same as you analyzing a game after the fact.

What's this most of this ridiculous shit? I haven't covered any topic but sports.
Believe? You believe you know why a player dropped a ball. You have none of your so called proof whether he ment to or not.
Let's look at the tree in the forrest. Did it make a sound? Since you weren't there, how do you know it even fell? You've already leaped assumptions. How do you know the story you read that it fell or the person that told you is telling the truth?
You are relying on an institution that told you how to initiate logic on their terms,by their methods.
You can try to define logic all day but that doesnt mean what you saw happen on tv ,happen by and for the reasons you think it did.
You've told me you can't tell the difference between fantastic tv reality and mundane life. This tells me you are quite a few steps behind an actual understanding of life/reality and the wisdom to understand the difference.
Go ahead and major in philosophy and logic. It won't help you deal with real life but it will certainly make you easier to influence and lead.

If You Are So intelectual and logical how come the best you can do is "football happened because it happened"..?

On thanks Giving week all the primetime and nationally televised games except for one, ended on the last play or in the last 2 minutes. Are you trying to tell me someone who is supposed to be intelligent , doesn't question that?
12 or 14 completely different teams in completely different situations, all with completely different players, just somehow are lucky enough to have all their games come down to the wire?
It's not logic you possess. It's far, far too much faith.

How else did the ****ing tree get on the ground if it didn't fall?

a majority of viewers are 18 to 35/45 because by then a lot finally notice the redundancy. I'll give you another 5 years before it clicks.

People tend to believe conspiracy theories when they are young and gullible. As they get older and wiser and more experienced they tend not to believe them as easily.

neither of you got the point.

the philosophical question is; does it make a noise when it falls if you arent there? You arent allowed to walk past to find out.

which implies you arent there but assumes it fell which most people bypass as a truth when in fact its telling you to believe what you are told..what you hear from another source.

you have no hard physical evidence games arent staged. All you have is "I believe they arent."

SAUTO 03-03-2016 08:54 PM

So the real question is if there was ever a tree.

you chirped that twice already. When you are young you may believe most anything. When most are young they could care less about so called conspiracies.
when you are older you should develop wisdom to not believe everything you are told. Its the majority who believe everything they are told. You are the majority. You were told the nfl is straight up,no monkey business. You believe that.

I dont believe in conspiracies either. I believe something did happen or it didnt.
you think anything you dont understand or dont want to agree with is then a conspiracy.

I dont easily believe that games on tv at night can constantly come down to the final 2 minutes and be exciting till the end on a natural, unmanipulated basis. You do.
Ive given constant examples. All you can do in rebuttal is "thats wrong, you dont know, you are crazy,it happened because it happened"

even if football werent staged I'd win in a debate contest with you every time because you have no counter argument other than name calling.
you're 54? bro,come on..

Hey smelly. Enlighten me, oh wise one.

I am confused. I see there are some people in this world that COULD care less about something. There are other people in this world who COULD NOT care less about something. Whether that "something" is actually the same thing or not doesn't puzzle or concern me. I'm wondering what makes the two groups of people different.

Thanks in advance for your patience and consideration.

It makes sound waves whether anyone is there to hear it or not. Is that sound, or does someone have to hear it for it to be sound? Who ****ing cares.

Learn the definition of "conspiracy", because you don't know what it means. Then learn the definition of "conspiracy theory" while you're at it. Then get back to me.

I think you must be trolling because no one is this stupid, then you say shit like this and I realize that you really are that stupid.

Like I already said ,you weren't even paying attention to what was said. The sound waves don't matter if you weren't there to know if it fell or not.
Sound waves aren't the point or any part of it.
You don't get any sound waves if you aren't there to know it fell in the first place

A true "intellectual" may not find it trivial. But what do I know. I have far many more questions than answers. I was able to find my personal path to enlightenment by figuring out I got a whole ****ing bunch to learn. Currently enjoying the journey.

The needle in my spinal chord was not a joke. I didn't piss my pants, but I may have leaked just a little. Depends.

They said it would hurt after the local wore off. They were not lying. They also said it would take 2-3 days for this to take affect. I go back in 2 weeks for another one.

I have played in more rooms with only tables and chairs with ZERO people there than I care to admit. Those tables and chairs couldn't hear a thing if they wanted to.

I was a solo act, not very good. The bartender even left for a few minutes to run an errand since there was nobody there but him and me. It was late evening and not too far from closing time.

I was kind of freaked out because I was only 18 at the time. After the bartender left I went outside and smoked a joint.

I went back inside and the pot made me kind of paranoid and I started thinking about just how funky this bar is without any people in it. Nobody but me.

I turned my shit up all the way. I blew that room away.

There was nobody there to hear it. Probably a good thing, too. I was making a ton of noise and less than a quarter-ounce was fit to listen to.

I'm not sure what this has to do with forests and trees, I'm no lumberjack. But I'm still okay.
