Did anybody think the multiple references to the fly were more than coincidental tonight?

First: I thought for sure there was going to be a hit on the patio party, leaving everybody shot and wondering who (besides Walt) survives into next season -- with Walt Jr. and maybe even Holly dead. Even when Hank was in the bathroom, I thought he'd hear gunshots, run out, and find everybody lying on the patio bleeding.

Second: I'm not sure that was the best way to reveal Walt's secret. A book of poetry while sitting on the shitter? I get the callback and everything. I don't remember how or why the book got there. Regardless, it just seems to me there were many ways to use Walt's ego against him to have him make a false step. The book, though?

Well, I'll read all the reviews online tonight/tomorrow and see what everyone thinks. Just gut reaction, I'm not sure I'm buying it.

At least Hank was sitting down on the appropriate chair for that bit of revelation.

He does his best thinking while sitting on the pot.

Walt took the book from Hank. He got it at Gales house after he was murdered. it said " To the other W.W. It was a pleasure working with you. G.B. And it was in Walts bathroom.

Yeah, I get all that. I don't remember him putting it in the bathroom, though. Did that occur in an episode?

Shogun 09-02-2012 09:19 PM

I believe it was at the beginning of this episode no?

It was in the basket when he was taking a shower, IIRC.

BTW, I absolutely don't mind Hank vs. Walt being the setup to the final season.

Gonna spend the next several months wondering how Hank's gonna play this. Obviously, he ain't walking out to the patio and pointing a finger at Walt: "J'accuse!"

That's totally not Hank's style. He'll sit on it and gather evidence, but I expect Walt will find out, as alluded to (probably) in the season opener.

That, and I don't think Hank speaks French.
