Right, I get that. What you don't get is that you're WRONG. Or, more accurately, you're not *necessarily* right.

Vollmer was drafted to play LT. He plays RT, but he has a manageable contract. It's not a bad pick.

He was drafted to play tackle. We have a left tackle. There was no point to move him to LT and bump Light to RT.

****, do people seriously lack this much reading comprehension.

Oh the irony.

If you thought Vollmer was your LT, you wouldn't take a guy whose only position is LT. It's that ****ing simple.

You would if your LT is potentially leaving as a FA and your presumed future LT but present RT is a very good RT and moving him to LT, as you perhaps planned, leaves a gaping hole at RT which you will still need to cover.
WHAT YOU DO NOT SEEM TO FATHOM IS THAT IF YOU MOVE VOLLMER THEN WE HAVE NO ****ING RIGHT TACKLE.
Another point that may make you potentially wrong is that the Pats may (not ARE, but may) be looking at their draft board and seeing that there are a ton of nearly-equivalent defensive players that they can have available at the 28 pick, but if they don't take Solder now, their tackle situation is going to get ugly quick in terms of the drop-off at the position. I have no idea if that's true. I don't pretend to read BB's mind as thoroughly as you pretend to read the mind of EVERY GM in the entire NFL....
