LMAO
WTF is that? He and Ventura can work on some moves together.

He's earned himself several years of goodwill. And outside of a felony involving a minor, Ned's going to be here a while as well.

Ned is likely here for as long as he wants at this point. I think he said, after the WS, that he plans on managing another 2-3 years before calling it a career.

Getting Cueto improves the Royals chances in each playoff series, but only by a few percent. It's just the nature of baseball.

If you put a 38 win team in the NBA playoffs they would never win, but a 75 win team could win the WS.

I get that completely but it's difficult for me to write off a team that's won 3 of the last 5 WS.

As I stated earlier, I think the best match up for the Royals is the Dodgers but we're three months from any scenario at this point.

Cueto certainly makes them a more dangerous team, much more so than Shields at this point last year and I'm happy with the trade but clearly, nothing is guaranteed for us Royals fans.

alnorth 07-26-2015 11:24 PM

yeah, Ned is manager for as long as he wants (within the next 4-5 years), but I think he's said he wants to retire soon. This might not be his last year, but next season could be.

Sounds like we are sniffing around for a 2nd baseman/utility man?

He's going to fit right into this team. The batter's reaction is classic. He basically just stood straight up before the pitch even came. The body language equivalent of WTF is this?

Yeah the Facebook Royals fans are upset about losing Finnegan. I've read some hilarious posts saying Finnegan will end up better than Cueto. It's mostly women though & most of them love Alex Rios because of how he looks in his uniform.

I hope he does this during one of his starts vs Detroit. I'll laugh my ass off if he does.

All I stated as that I'm not sure that this move is enough to win the Series, not that the Royals are a bad team.

I know several Cardinal fans who would shit their pants if they had to face the Giants in the NLDS.

No chance Ned retires while managing a perennial World Series team

He might. That's part of Cueto's game. He is constantly mixing up the timing on his windups. He'll do a big pause on one pitch, then quick pitch the next. You never know what you're going to get. Nobody else mixes it up quite like him.

Actually, I think that if we win one this year or next. He's done.

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/pi...of-the-mix-up/

This is from last year... but it's still a good article about Cueto. It talks about how he works so hard to keep batters off balance. That's his game. He basically has six pitches, three different kind of fastballs, and mixes them all effectively.

It doesn't get into his windup as much, but he mixes that up too. Not that he does that shimmy all the time, but he'll try to mess up the hitter's timing. He's all about deception.
