My point was not counting the core guys. Of course we have trade bait there. But my post was in assumption that Moore will ride those guys through their contracts (which expire after 17) while trying to keep as many as possible. I think we'll get to lock up one, best case two.

But what you said is part of the point. They will go all in now or next year. I think they'll stand pat now especially with Moose being out for the year, then fill the holes in the offseason to make a run in 17 (which goes along with what I said about having no trade bait, because nobody is giving anything up for our prospects without a Mondesi).

There is plenty of trade bait in the minors besides Mondesi. Duncan had a good run down of them a week or so back.

Lol what? I'm not saying this team is finished this year. I'm talking about the options. I'm just saying they have a choice depending on what they feel is best; whatever that plan may be. They were just talking about it on MLB Network this week actually. Doubt they buy or sell at the deadline knowing they'll have a healthy Moose back next year and can fill holes through free agency. They don't have any trade bait because they won't sacrifice their prospects or any core guys when you're not at full strength anyway. IMO, you don't make any moves. Go all in next year.

You said we have 0 trade bait. Completely false. There are appealing commoditys in the minors. If they use them depends on so many things... team record, what is available and at what cost. Not ever player available is going to be a FA after this season.

It's all moot anyway. Moore is not and should not make any moves anyway. No healthy Moose, a neutered DH, etc. Take your chances in the offseason. There aren't many holes on this club. Some (new ones sadly lol) Royals fans expectations are crazy. If they don't make the playoffs this year some will riot lol.
