If we're going for a super-utility, it needs to be Zobrist. Could care less about Prado.

Both would be massive upgrades and great fits

And no Paulo Orlando in the OF, which would be just fine.

There are far worse things to complain about than Orlando in the OF.

Probably should start with nurses first

He's a bench player. With Infante and Rios playing much better of late and the acquisition of an ace, guys like Orlando become the glaring weakness. Not his fault, but this is the shit that happens due to injury.

The head nurse...

Jerm 07-27-2015 08:55 AM

So if we acquire Zobrist, is it safe to assume he slides right in and takes over at 2B....?

DeezNutz 07-27-2015 09:02 AM

He'll play LF until Gordon returns and then play RF or 2B, as needed.

He can give Esky a day off at SS too.

How many of you guys watch the NL and why in the world would anyone count out the Giants in July, based on their history?

I've got mlb.tv and live in a city with an AL and NL team. Outside of the Royals I'm equally familiar.

As for the Giants. A number of my close cousins are from and still live there and Giants fans. It made for some lively back and forth last fall.
As it seems a large portion of their fans, including a few of my cousins, are resolute in their superstitious belief in their even year magical luck. So, they aren't expecting anything until next year.

It was surprising when I was out there in the spring and would be wearing something Royals affiliated. The number of people who would come up to me and have something complimentary to say such as they really like the Royals team, they've adopted them as their AL club, rooting for the Royals to win it all this year because it Giants year until lucky 2016, etc.

A lot of them after the offseason moves figured that this year would be a bit down as they retool. So, I haven't been counting them out.

Omar's OPS over the last 14 days is .525, over the last 28 days it's .544. For the season, he's at .551, so he's actually been worse over the last month.

Prison Bitch 07-27-2015 09:37 AM

Our fans just will not stop defending Omar. It's sad and pathetic to watch.

Hootie 07-27-2015 09:40 AM

I think Prado is more realistic ... as he won't cost anything more than a lottery prospect (or a better one, if they eat a ton of his contract).

And then I think Prado is your 2nd baseman who also spells Moose, Dyson/Orlando, and Rios with the occasional day off himself.

Prado gives us a shit ton of versatility. He is a stout defender at 2nd, 3rd, LF and RF and can .OPS around .700 - .750.

and ideally it makes Infante a part time player, at most. As in, Infante only starts against left handed pitching.

Yes. The price tag will be higher than Cueto. No way you pay that for a bench player.
