We need to do something with Humber. That guy has pitched too well to ignore. If not for one bad inning where he ran out of gas in his start, he would be putting up tremendous numbers. He definitely has good stuff.

Reaper16 09-01-2010 09:45 PM

Aaron Crowe should have been doing this shit all year.

Mecca 09-01-2010 09:48 PM

Isn's Humber one of the guys from the Santana trade?

Kendall out 8-10 months w/ shoulder surgery

Jason Kendall will need shoulder surgery and is expected to be sidelined 8-10 months.
Royals manager Ned Yost said Kendall has an "extensive tear in his rotator cuff." The injury occurred in July but was never reported, so some kudos should be given to Kendall for playing through what was surely a painful injury. Yost hopes Kendall will be ready for the beginning of next season, but given that April is seven months away, that seems a bit unrealistic. Brayan Pena and Lucas May will handle the catching duties for the rest of this season. Sep. 1 - 5:49 pm et

Minor leagues today. Although Duffy technically gets credited with a shutout, it is one of those goofy short minor league shutouts, so it isn't as amazing as it might seem.

Giavotella had an awesome day, 5/7 2 doubles and a home run

AA

Game 1 (7 innings)

Derrick Robinson, (CF) 1/4
Giavotella, (2B) 3/4 (2 doubles)
Hosmer, (DH) 1/3, 1BB

Game 2 (5 innings)

Derrick Robinson, (CF) 0/3, 1K
Giavotella, (2B) 2/3, 1HR
Hosmer, (1B) 1/2 (1 double)
Danny Duffy, (SP), 5IP CG SHO, 0R 0ER 0BB 5K

Advanced A

Colon, (SS) 1/4, 1BB
Myers, (C) 1/4
Buddy Baumann, (SP) 5IP 1R 1ER 2BB 4K

Why haven't they brought Giavotella up to AAA yet? Seems like he's been ready 60 games ago.

SPchief 09-03-2010 07:11 PM

Greinke just got hosed on a walk

alnorth 09-03-2010 07:22 PM

and the no-hitter is now gone.

Royals will probably win the game, but I dont have much reason to watch the rest of it tonight. I'll just catch the box scores.
