I don't think we'll touch it.

The only way I am okay with touching it is if we drop Booger.

...and/or Alex. But we know Alex will be back next season.

If Bray proves that he has a grasp on this offense and is steadily improving.....we just may. That would allow Reid to dump Daniel and move Bray to #2. We won't see a pick in the first 3 rounds (unless a QB falls to us)....but I wouldn't put it past Dorsey to draft a developmental guy.

saphojunkie 11-04-2013 11:31 AM

I think Dorsey will absolutely draft a QB if the right guy falls to us. He won't trade up, and I don't think that is really a problem for me at this point.

I'd personally like to see us trade back in the draft and pick up another couple of picks. IMHO the difference between a late first and early third is marginal on average, as long as someone you consider elite doesn't fall to you.

McCarron would be my pick if he falls.

this is going to be one sad thread when they give Alex Smith a contract extension

I'm 100% fine with a contract extension for Smith. It's just how long and how much that makes me nervous. Look at all the playoff teams that are having to find QB off the waiver wire just in order to field a complete team. Injuries happen, and smart, prepared, competent quarterbacks are rare.

Three years at $15 million is just fine, by me.

Six years, $80 million is not.

Quarterback Tyler Bray: He has been inactive for all nine games, but don’t let that fool you. Bray has uncommon skill for an undrafted quarterback. He showed the ability in training camp and the preseason to make all the necessary throws. The key for Bray is whether he’s willing to put in all the hard work necessary to become a great player. If so, his future could be bright. With a strong offseason, he could push Chase Daniel for the backup spot next season.
