I think Esky will be replaced with Mondesi If we do lock up Moose I think Cutty gets dealt. Otherwise you let Moose walk which could play into Hos not wanting to hang for less $.

There is just no way that Hosmer stays in KC. He's going to get massive offers, especially from a team like the Dodgers, that he won't be able to refuse.

Yes. And nor should he. He brought a WS. Go make that bread now. I'll be happy for him

Exactly. And this isn't going to be like Gordon's situation this offseason.

Teams with unlimited resources will get into a bidding war for Hosmer.

My only hope is that DM trades him for a bounty of picks if the Royals are out of it.

Cuthbert has really came on. Couple of years ago I thought he would be a just piece we could use in a trade to get somebody, granted he wasn't doing that good in the minors then. Now he looks like a part of our future.

At this point in time, absolutely. The earliest a CC trade thought would even cross DM's mind would be spring training 2017 when Moose is back and 100%.

In terms of 2017, we'll have a healthy Moose, paired with a promising Cuthbert and a nearly-major league ready Dozier. Bit of a long ways away, but the Royals will have a plethora of options from an organizational-standpoint at 3B and chips to trade for a solid starter come 2017-2018 if needed. Personally, I love watching Cuthbert emerge and it's awesome seeing KC win with homegrown players.

The only thing that gives me pause about Hos is Dayton's insistence that he wants to make him a lifelong Royal, he's NEVER been so bold about any other player, not even Gordon.

I still think he's gone. I always thought Gordo (and perhaps Sal) were a better fit for the lifelong Royal category anyway.

I think a 23 year old 20HR 3rd baseman is valuable to a lot of teams. He really gives the Royals some options and needed flexibility. I cant remember the last time we had an all star blocking what looks like a future all star.

If Cutty hits 20 dongs at 23, we would need a Wil Myers type of return before I would think about parting with him.

If we can add a legitimate #2 and a potential #3 for multiple years, then I'll be listening.

They were ready to play him at 2nd before Moose was injured (ala Duncan).

Again, if we're trading Cutty, then I hope we can net a King's ransom in return.

I just don't think the Royal can (or even should) go to $25 million per for Hosmer. He's a perfect fit for a team like the Dodgers, as he's a leader and a winner and they have basically unlimited pockets.

It sucks but it's reality.

So about Orlando. Is everyone comfortable with continuing to roll with him in RF this year and beyond?

By "Wacha-type," I hope you mean someone better than Michael Wacha.

Wacha is OK, but he's really a two-pitch guy and has an injury history/bad shoulder. I don't think he'd more of a difference maker for the 2017 Royals than Moustakas.

I don't either, but we need to get a starter this winter. And I mean like badly, even if it's a slight overpay. This rotation resembles one from a 68-94 team, not a playoff contender.

I know it's not apples to apples, but he's got 14 already: 7 at AAA in about a month. Guy has damn good power for his age. He's one of the few guys that passes the eye test and the stats test. He's a very valuable commodity now - maybe our most valuable on the team when you factor service time

This year for sure. Dozier and Bonafacio might be future options there as well.
