There's absolutely no way you watched that game if you believe that.

He was being contested all night. Every guy on Utah wanted to get a stuff in on Kobe's last night if he could manage it. He missed most of those contested shots for 3+ quarters.

But down the stretch, they were still Ding him up well and he simply went around or over them. For 5 minutes, it was Vintage Kobe and it was awesome.

Pau left because management was trying to trade him every season. Pau loved Kobe.

Shaq left because it became toxic with Kobe. He left because Jerry Buss chose Kobe. Kobe was leaving if Shaq was still on the roster in 04.

You're a ****ing clown. Please tell me more about how close you follow sports.

Utah was missing its twin towers, you think Kobe would have been scoring even if Gobert were around to guard the paint? Oh and Alec Burks has been out for most of the season. Oh and Dante exum who is a terrific defender.

Bunch of bench players in a meaningless game. Fact.

Whatever you think happened the fact is no influential player was lining up to play with Kobe because the dude is a ball hog. Can't change the facts there. Lebron on the other hand..

Alec Burks isn't a plus defender; oh sure, he's credible now vs. the turnstile he was at Colorado, but he's by no means a stopper out there and largely replacement level defensively.

As for the interior - Kobe doesn't do most of his work in the paint anymore and he didn't do much of it there last night. He was working on turnarounds and mid-range jumpers coming off screens that wouldn't have been largely effected by a couple of interior defenders.

And yes, Exum's a very good defensive player....so? A) He's a point guard and while he may have been on Kobe, it's equally likely he'd have been on Russell. B) What's your point? That if Kobe didn't go off against some hybrid super-combo of Pippin and Russell that I should immediately not give a shit?

Kobe Bryant is 37 yrs old coming of a half-decade of knee/lower body injuries. He's friggen shot out there. The 12th guy on the bench is able to hang with Kobe Bryant anymore. Bryant isn't exploding by people; he's simply out-skilling them (or failing). Last night, he wasn't failing. He still had guys all over him because it just doesn't take a premier defender to do that to him anymore. He simply hit the shot anyway and I have little reason to believe that he'd have missed those shots against Exum.

Jimmer puts up big numbers against D league players, that's pretty much the equivalent of the starting jazz players last night sans Hayward who didn't give a **** with his team eliminated from contention. 50 shots put up in a meaningless game... He was shooting 33% when I turned off that mess halfway thru the third

So you missed 35 of his points and the white-hot stretch that actually has people talking yet still feel qualified to talk shit?

Makes sense.

They left because they were told to.
All that in-flight ing was made up stories so you could believe the Lakers had to lose.
And like magic(I mean the word, not the player),Kobe is the reason they win again.

Meaningless game and meaningless performance. Sums it up perfectly.

DJ's left nut 04-14-2016 12:45 PM

Apart from one of the top 10-20 players in NBA history pushing back time for a brief moment in the last game he'll ever play, sure - meaningless game. A 40 yr old Jordan goes out and drops 40 at the Garden in his last visit there; who gives a shit? Meaningless game. Jeter's walk-off single in his last AB? Eh, who gives a ****? Cal Ripken hit's a bomb in his final All-Star game? Eh, just an exhibition - meh.

A 37 yr old player with over 1,500 games on his legs puts up 35 points on his last 20 shots of the game - something you missed ALL of - and you act like you can grab any ol' jackass from a guitar center and get a similar performance.

Eh, you're a moron. You're a moron about everything else so there's really no reason to expect otherwise here.

all of them were staged.
but of course you just believe it was luck and talent and stars aligning for that last moment.

isnt it amazing the fans get the feel good story they want?

Guilty as charged. :D

And yet it overshadowed a team that won 73games yup meaningless. Major story on every sports website was Kobe not the warriors. Meaningless though. Seems it meant a lot to alot of people
