Eli Manning, New York Giants (2004-present)
Drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 1st round (1st overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft.
2× Pro Bowl (2008, 2011) (*who cares)
2× Super Bowl champion (XLII, XLVI)
2× Super Bowl MVP (XLII, XLVI)
2× NFC Champion (2007, 2011)
NFL Record most 4th quarter touchdown passes in a season (15)
Tied NFL Record longest pass completion and touchdown (99 yards)
NFL Record most road playoff wins by a quarterback (5)
Tied NFL Record most game-winning drives in a season (8)
Most road wins in a single regular season and postseason by a starting quarterback (10)
Most passing yards in a single postseason (1219 yards)

I'm surprised nobody commented on this. Anyone doubting Eli Manning should take note of the bolded accolades. That's crazy impressive. Eli flat gets it done, and he's got lots of records achieved in the most difficult playing environments possible. Anyone saying Eli is overrated is just stupid....

So, 10-6 is homer BS?

Pasta Little Brioni 07-07-2012 04:24 PM

A couple of the moron "experts" on ESPN the other night tried saying that Romo was the best player in the division. Better than Manning. Will the Cowboy ballwashing ever stop? Now that is some good ole bullshit.

Sorry, but have you been reading some of the dipshit opinions on here?

The Chiefs going 12-4?

Sweeping the Raiders and Broncos?

BEATING THE SAINTS?

This place has a fever, and the only prescription is more 3 and outs.

I wish the best for the Chiefs, you know that - it's possible. Why not?

I wish the Giants had your offensive line - The Giants had the worst offensive line in the league.

The Chiefs have a very good defense. Love Hali, Johnson (off the top of my head) - Love the secondary.

I believe Charles & Hillis have the potential to best RB duo in the league. Hopefully, Charles comes back healthy.

Question: Would you have picked the Giants to go all the way last season?

If you say we're going 10-6, you're basically saying we're going 7-3 outside the division (homer BS) or we're sweeping someone in the division (homer BS).

Either way it's homer BS. Look at the schedule.

If we were playing the NFC West, I could see it. We're not.

If that's all you have as a response, you're not making the homers look any smarter.

What difference does it make?

I'll post something to refute your negativity.

You'll post something negative about beating 5 shitty QBs or playing the NFC West.

You're entire argument is based on the past.

Hammock Parties 07-07-2012 04:50 PM

Yes, established facts tend to come from the past.

If you can find evidence from the future that Cassel is capable of beating playoff contenders consistently, I'll admit that's a solid point.

I agree.

The injury riddled Chiefs won 7 games.

Thats why I think a healthy squad can win 10.

I'm using facts from the past.

Amani Toomer had this to say about Eli Manning this week on Sirius - Former NY Giant Amani Toomer: Tony Romo, not Eli Manning, is 'best quarterback in the NFC East'

Cowboys fans called into the radio station and told Amami - he was nuts. Jerry Jones is on record - He said the difference between the Cowboys and Giants is Eli.

Short Snippet from Sirius:
http://siriusxmsports.posterous.com/...talks-with-tim

The NY media went nuts on Amani - Chances are if your not a Giants fans - you're not aware that Amani was Kerry Collins No. 1 go to WR vs the third target with Eli. Amani felt he was good enough in the Fassel era and it rubbed him the wrong way when Coughlin took over and all of a sudden, he wasn't the go to receiver any longer.

Amani also voiced his opinion in the press that he was more reluctant to go through the growing pains of playing with a young quarterback. Therefore, Ernie Accorsi brought in Plax and he became Eli's No. 1 receiver.

Then you factor in the terms on which Amani was cut and the comments he made that he felt there was an agenda to get rid of him for younger players.

Amani the ungrateful has his only Super Bowl ring thanks in large part to Eli Manning.

What is funny to Giants' fans, Amani didn't even make it past the first round of cuts with the Chiefs and then he was out of the league for good.

Added Giants DE Osi Umyiora, “"They will be Booing my guy toomer at Giants stadium. That we can agree on”

Later, Toomer acknowledged he forgot Manning played in the NFC East (huh?) but added, “I stand by what I said.”
Giants PR czar Pat Hanlon asked, “QB or golfer?”

So, now he joins the ranks of Tiki Barber.

You continue to use shallow reasoning that ignores the differences in strength of schedule.
