I was at home watching the game with my mother.

I can't stand watching big games in public with assholes.

I hear that. I watched the first half of the UNC-KU final four game in a bar in Sidney with some buddies. When Handjob started flopping and getting all those horseshit charges, I had to leave. I was going to say (yell at the TV) something I would regret saying in public.

I agree, somewhat.

It's the know it all, loud drunk assholes who annoy the shit out of me.

So I would rather watch the bigger games in the comfort of my home. That way there's only one know it all asshole. LMAO

We watched it at my friends apartment. It was a pretty nice evening in Lawrence that night so the doors and windows were cracked a little bit. It felt like everyone in the apartment complex was watching it together because with every shot made and every play the whole complex would scream and cheer. The energy was amazing. Absolutely unbelievable. Then when Chalmers hit that shot the whole place went (as well of course all of Lawrence) crazy. People going out on their balconies screaming stuff like "FIVE MORE MINUTES THIS IS OURS!" The amount of energy at that point could've moved mountains no joke. I knew the title was ours at that point. I didn't sit down the whole game. When the clock hit zero we all jumped up cheering and hugging. We all ran outside along with the others at the complex. Shortly after, we headed to Mass to join in on the madness. I'll never forget it. I didn't sleep that night. What a feeling.

Where were you?

I was mid-court, about 15 rows up watching my Memphis team blow it. Yep, look at me. Had somebody with an "in". There with my dad (a Memphis St. grad) and two KU fans (BIL and his buddy). At least two of us were happy driving home through the night.

On a hilarious unrelated note, in that same bar that I managed to hold myself together for a half at, I watched some NU football game (loss). Remember this is the Callahan years so it is ugly. I wanna say it was some big non-con game or something. Anyway, I was quiet, but this like 70 year old crusty ****er was yelling in the back about how they needed to go back to the option because they stopped winning when they put in these new fangled offenses.

I laughed. Hard.

LMAO

That right there is a huge reason why I stay at home.

There's always THAT ONE ****ING GUY.

I also remember telling my dad after the Chiefs went 2-14 that year that KU has to win the title or this is gonna be a sports suicide year lol.

That whole season I was confident KU was gonna win the title. I drove my KSU, MU friends nuts. Always saying stuff like I'm gonna watch my soon to be national champion Jayhawks I can't talk right now. Constantly having my Facebook statuses say 2008 NC Jayhawks about to play be back later. I received so much hate that year from my friends. It was nice to rub it in their faces the next day. I believe one of my MU friends saw me a week later and my first words were "told you." Awesome.

****in-a, man. My friends and I watched it at my roommate's and mine apartment. That night is one of the few really, really vivid memories of my life. We did the same thing with the balcony and everything (including throwing beer bottles and chairs down from it). I remember when Mario hit that three, we were all just hugging each other like crazy, toppling over onto the floor. Eventually, I couldn't contain myself and ran out in the hallway just banging on walls like a complete idiot.

After we won, we headed down to Mass street and it was just so nuts. You could literally feel the energy. It was like someone took pure happiness and just sprayed that shit all over the place. The crowd was so dense, people had drums going, dudes were climbing lightpoles and shit. Some guy climbed the super tall flagpole right outside that big ass US Bank on 9th and Mass (and stayed there forever, lol). My buddies lifted me up and I crowd surfed like half a block.

Goddamn, that was just an amazing night, full of drunken happiness. I lost my voice that night and couldn't speak at all till Thursday and then could only whisper for the next few days thereafter.

Saw that. Looks like Self told him to **** off

Chiefs Pantalones 04-08-2013 12:09 PM

If Self let him back it would be like undermining his power. Not to mention, Rio has a lot of growing up to do mentally and at KU, where the expectations are high every year, Self can't afford to have a mental midget when he's trying to build chemistry and unity.

It's too bad. The kid could've grown into a player here if he were mature and patient.

He kept Tyshawn around, and that worked out towards the end.
