Joeckel is/was a sure thing. He is. He will anchor your left side AT LEAST adequately, if not far more than that, for ten years. Fisher has all the ability to do that, but he is not a slam dunk.

That said, I agree with this pick. Fisher is the better prospect, and the guy I'd take if I didn't have any skin in the game, which I don't. But Reid and Dorsey do, and using the 1st on this guy is... well. It's a hell of a thing.

The Chiefs will be the first team in the Modern NFL Draft (perhaps the entire thing) to take a MAC player #1 overall.

By the way, I humbly propose that a new thread be started to discuss each of our picks (once they're made official). Seems like Kotter did that a few years back, and it really helped to keep things organized.

Fisher is Pro Bowl caliber. Might take him a year to get there, though.

Until then, he'll probably play perfectly fine. But there will be a learning curve.

I agree but if 3 OT's go in 4 picks...we have the leverage over Miami in terms of what 2nd round pick we'd get in return.

I'm more excited to see where Geno goes. I don't think he'll go #3. I doubt he goes #4.

If he falls past #9 (if the Jets want him they'll take him at 9 not gamble until 13)...all bets are off.
