I'd spend a 4th or 5th on him. Redshirt his first year and he can replace Linkenbach after this season.

Those players are still valuable, imo. Yeah, you lose a year of cost control, but you don't lose a roster spot. He would be a great reach/pick for a team with a deep roster because you can increase the talent level of your team simply by placing them on the IR for a year, which in turn frees up a roster spot for another talent on your team.

I really like Thomas in this draft, thought he would go late 2nd to 3rd round based on his talent. Now he will drop to the 4th or 5th round or someone like SF will take him with their comp pick in the 3rd.

Throw Thomas down in the 7th-FA category with Spencer Long of Nebraska. I never like Thomas much anyhow, but that sucks for him. I would take a chance on Long though, guy was a beast.
