LMAO

I admit, my expectations may be a bit high, I was thinking that while watching the game.

Even if your expectations were high, you should be pleased with 21 points in four offensive series.

Agree. The offense looks like it's found its groove. My concern at this point is a defense that may have regressed. Hopefully the return of some of the stats will change that.

Berry
Hali
Gaines
Houston

That group is going to make a difference.

Direckshun 08-21-2016 10:23 PM

The defense just needs to stay competent until Houston gets back.

It'll be great to have him back in November when we're 3-5.

yea, except for the fact that Conley ran the route to get the safety to come up and open up the deep half for Maclin. If Conley runs it full speed then we have both receivers and all the defenders in the same location, it's a disaster.

That wasn't a case of Conley being slower, it was the scheme.

Yeah, they showed that play from the pylon angle and the design was clear; Conley's primary function was a clear out. Smith made a great play drawing the safety to Conley with his eyes. Right at the back of his drop he looks at Conley to freeze/trap the safety and the safety took the bait hard.

First blush showed a simple pitch and catch but Smith did a great job of shifting coverage with his eyes and immediately capitalizing.

The most disheartening part of that play is that it showed what Smith could have been, had it not been for his mostly terrible trajectory since being drafted #1 overall in 2005.

DJ White again stood out aside from the 2nd play where he blew the coverage bc he thought the quick pass would be to the slot receiver.

That's the only real mistake the kid has made. Crazy that he fell to the 6th rd but has immediately pushed our 3rd rd CB to the bottom of the depth chart to the point where I don't think Russell will play much this year f any at all unless it's ST's.
