This is what people should be talking about, instead of pinning all the blame on the WRs. These tackles have been overrated all year. Nobody wants to admit it, because they've committed to the narrative that KC upgraded there. Hopefully Morris will be a nice surprise.

In the offseason, they need to find a proven WR and draft a tackle in the first. Voila...a return to 30 ppg and the first truly balanced juggernaut in the Mahomes era.

This game is no puzzle and we all know what needs to happen. Mahomes and the offense can't have turnovers. They have to run the football because the remaining LB's the Bills have aren't great at covering or stopping the run. Kelce needs to have a successful game. Defense has to be at their best and play like they did vs the Eagles and Dolphins.

Very likely a defensive score puts us over the top for a win. Very likely that if any of the elements above don't happen we lose. We're a mortal team now. We need to play into our strengths and avoid our areas of weakness...

You're confused. This movie is a reboot of an older movie starring Alex Smith. In half of this seasons contests, the Kansas City Chiefs have scored 20 points or less, losing 4 of those 6 contests. For a Patrick Mahomes led offense, with a perfectly healthy Patrick Mahomes, that is abominable. Opponents used to have to score 28 just to have a ticket to the show, they needed to score 30 to win out over a team averaging 29.2 points per game.

Defense outperforming an offense struggling to score points with some hilariously bad personnel decisions tossed in there. Hmm where have i seen this? 2017?

I think this reboot film will have its ending based on the 2017 playoff matchup between the Chiefs and Steelers, in which a stout defense only surrenders 6 field goals, but Andy's offense could only muster 16 points, losing at home 18-16.

That's just how this season feels. They've only cracked 30 points 3 times, on absolute dumpster fire teams in the Bears, Raiders and Chargers contests.

The biggest nod to that game at the end of this reboot will be instead of Alex Smith just flat out not seeing a streaking Tyreek Hill for a td, it will be Mahomes scrambling, and dropping an absolute dime on a streaking MVS who drops the football.

Thats the movie you're watching now.

I hate that I agree with you.

I hate it.

It makes me feel bad, and sad.

But I do agree with you.

This current offense scores less than every Alex Smith team.

Still the 4th ranked offense in DVOA, not that that's supposed to make anyone feel better. We should be number one with Mahomes.

We've been awful in key situations this year. Late in games, critical third and fourth downs. Situationally, we've looked like the Alex Smith Chiefs.

Since you seem tuned in with the future, Mrs Cleo… loser leaves forever bet? We make it back to the AFCCG minimum, you’re saying we lose the first game. Put your posting privy’s where you’re mouth is!

But I’d be willing to make it an avatar bet if you don’t wanna tempt fate.

Man, that's what I kinda keep coming back to. The advanced stats say this should be a whole lot better offense than the scoreboard says.

Just stop doing dumb shit!!

The offense wasn't horrible in Green Bay. Not explosive by any means, but we had limited possessions in that game because GB drained the clock and stayed on the field with extended drives.

We went 2/2 on scoring drives in the first half. (last drive started with 9 seconds left). Followed by two consecutive touchdowns to start the second half.

So we started the game 4/4 on scoring drives, then really unraveled in crunch time.

I get it, but don't do it. Not this year. If you lose, the board loses something. It's not worth it. (unless you're sick of this place, and I get that also) But this year is like no other with Mahomes. Weird things are happening and that's not likely to stop. It's going to be a learning experience and they'll go scorched earth next year, and if you lose the bet, you'll miss out on what's coming.

RaidersOftheCellar 12-08-2023 10:35 AM

Another reason that DVOA is pretty worthless, frankly. They clearly haven't been a top 5 offense throughout the year. But they're capable of moving the ball. It's not a 3 and out fest like last year's Broncos. Just need to limit the costly mistakes. Which Reid teams always do eventually.

The offense was fine until the 4th quarter. They were able to move the ball. Stalled twice in the red zone in the first half but scored two TDs in the second half. The 4th quarter wasn't good. Throwing to MVS and Moore ruined two drives.

Of course, after the defense started making stops, the offense stopped scoring.

Taylor is going to go down as one of the worst FA signings in franchise history. Yeah he has an excellent pass blocking grade but only because he is 5 yards and 5 seconds ahead of any DE if a penalty isn't called. I'm amazed Reid and Veach didn't notice this before giving him that contract; feels like they only looked at his PFF Grade.

Yeah, I felt like there was some offensive improvement in the GB game. But two red zone field goals and an interception are ongoing issues that need to be improved.

I don't know about the worst one, but it's not looking very good at this point.
