I keep trying to explain this, and nobody pays attention, and someone else asks again.

DJ posted the stats earlier - a big part last year in particular was the on-target % of throws made down field to him was very low; aka QB play.

Your expertise with balls going deep is duly noted.

Bad QB plus small catch radius maybe , thrown late/under thrown etc..

We have great YAC here because Pat throws a pretty accurate ball/leads guys into space.

DJLN has a good post about it.

I’ll give you the short version: his QBs have sucked

Wha?

RunKC 03-13-2024 10:55 AM

If this is a prove it 1 year deal then I don’t see the problem

That's been a big part of every single year of his career. I just didn't run the stats out for every season.

The poor rates never changed. He's dealt with it every season. And with the QBs he's had, that's not shocking.

Yeah I assume he's not been thrown very good balls. Any ball he's thrown in our offense is going to be an extremely high quality attempt. Good to know if we do end up signing him.

Urc Burry 03-13-2024 10:56 AM

Yeah, outside of the backups… Kyler is known for his arm strength. But IIRC he ranked dead last in deep ball accuracy

Chris Meck 03-13-2024 10:56 AM

He's played with QBs that are slow to go through the progression. By the time they get to a 2nd or 3rd read, they're now rushing the throw-and so they're off target.

If it's a TRUE one year prove it deal, then **** it, welcome aboard Hollywood.

nychief 03-13-2024 10:57 AM

I can't wait till he signs with the Eagles or someshit.

BWillie 03-13-2024 10:58 AM

League circles indicate Chiefs are expected to sign Hollywood Brown by the end of the day and once signed he will change his name to Leawood Brown.

@DJ's left nut I'm not sure where you got your data, or I'd do it myself - but can you see what the off-target throw numbers are for Michael Wilson last year?
