Have you considered the possibility that it was an apology meal after the "inspiration"?

Nothing you would call gourmet, but its delicious just the same... shepherds pie.

Little over a pound of ground beef with a tablespoon of rich beef stock mixed in, 1 bag of frozen mixed vegetables and then throw on top some instant garlic mashed potatoes... bake at 400 for maybe 40 minutes and yeah... very tasty and filling.

But first, cocktails to unwind.

A good shepherd's pie is great food.

I'm doing grilled chuck eye seasoned with salt and grains of paradise and roasted red potatoes.

I love shepherds pie. I use some cheese and one recipe called for egg yolk, in the potatoes. Sometimes I make it with lamb which is the original way shepherd's ate it.

I'm eating right now and you're right about throwing an egg in the potatoes to keep them firm... the taters are a bit runny, but its still purty durn tasty.

Oooh lamb, that would definitely be good.

I like it, the last time I made it the wife said it smelled like dog food, lol, whatever, you can starve then. In her defense, I did add Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef and I think that was the difference.
