I agree completely. Some guys dominate for a month here and there, and then they go back to sucking. Some dominate just for a couple of weeks or even just a couple of games. Davies literally throws a couple of dominant-looking pitches and then sucks.
It's not like he's ever even had a game like Hochevar did a couple of years ago when he threw a 1 hit shutout on 80 pitches. As Petro mentioned, his best starts consist of 6 2/3 innings, 2 ER, 5K, 7 hits, and 2 walks. The guy averages something close to 2 baserunners allowed per inning pitched over his career. It's preposterous that he's one of the highest paid players on our team.
