Seems to me that KU is playing too inconsistent to be a serious contender. Is that normal? Seems to me that last years team never jelled. Same as this year?

I've got no college BB team, beyond Missouri state in the 90's so not trolling. Just curious.

O.city 01-04-2015 08:11 PM

They're all freshman and sophomores besides ellis, whatever your opinion is on him.

They have played a tough schedule with 2 losses, 1 being to a team that may not lose a game all year.

They are inconsistent but talented

Prison Bitch 01-04-2015 08:15 PM

Matt Jones of KY Sports Radio claims they are out for Bragg, will be KU or Illinois. It's set up for another epic troll job

Yeah. They're pretty inconsistent right now. Self usually has some inconsistent teams this time of year. The big exception was the 08 team. They're about the only team I've seen here that was kick ass from the word go.

Last years team never gelled but a lot of the problems were with Tharpe at the point. Mason is kicking ass at point right now, it's everybody else that is nutsack. The biggest problem IMO is the bigs. We don't have anybody that can score or defend in the middle. Self is an inside out guy and there is no inside at the moment so it looks like dog shit.

Traylor, Alexander and Lucas can get there maybe. I think Ellis is what he is at this point.

Beyond the general softness, inconsistency is a major issue. They play very well for stretches, but the effort isn't maintained for entire games.

I can't seem to get invested in this team. I'm not sure what the issue is.

Maybe the start of conference play will help.

How come Self didn't get one of those big Kentucky guys?

Everybody is a contender. A eight or nine seed won the NCAA Tournament last year. Regular season only matters for bragging rights, which I do care about.

Thats what I was thinking. In college BB the tournament is everything. You build up to peak performance at that time.

I've started to watch KU BB games because a lot of my Chief friends down here are KU fans.

Prison Bitch 01-04-2015 10:26 PM

Well you picked a good time to follow us now that we are down. It will teach you patience. Our fans could use some as well, my eyes nearly bled reading all the whining on the KC Star board after Temple blew us out.

I also felt like that about the 2010 team. The UNI loss is still the one that hurt me the most ever. The 2010 squad was so dominant, I felt like they were destined to win it all.
