FYI, Jason Adam was promoted to Kane County and will make his first start tonight.

For those that don't remember, Adam was our 5th round pick last year, and both Baseball America and Keith Law said he looked like a 1st rounder based on how he was pitching at instructs this year.

That makes sense. I just want to see the kid go +5 innings in his first start, if possible.

I hope it's not much more than 5. I know our bullpen is stressed but Duffy's been averaging about 5 innings per start. Don't want to stretch him out too fast.

Did the injury look that bad? I missed it.

This was a totally lost season to me, didn't care about it until I started looking at the minors and Frenchy got off to a decent start, and Alex was on fire. It looks like they are heading towards the bottom, but they had some excitement going until May. That is more than most Royals teams.

Duffy this season in Omaha: 3-1, 7GS, 36IP, 3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 4HR, 10BB, 43K

Obviously the stat that jumps out at you are the strikeouts, he's getting almost 11 per game. The walks and home runs aren't bad.

4.30 K/BB, 10.75 K/9, 2.50 BB/9, 1.00 HR/9

Of course it jumps out.

It's a different color.

I can, given that the amount of suck from the starters is outweighing the amount of good coming from them. Throw in the injuries, and it's a no brainer.

We have got to be far and away the youngest roster in the bigs right now.

Yeah I just didn't think they would let more than one guy go into super-2 status.

Your math is incorrect. 7 games started...43 strikeouts is closer to 6 strikeouts a game and not nearly as impressive as the 11 you stated above.

I like that they're not worrying about it and trying to get a collective of young guys up that can potentially help a team that's in an unexpected race in the division. Hopefully they don't panic and have it bite them in the ass by bringing these guys to the majors. We'll see. Starting pitching was easily the biggest weakness with this team, so I figured we'd see Duffy long before Hosmer.

Shut up, you. 11 k's a game makes me smile whether it's true or not.

I think he meant strike outs per 9 innings.
