Does anyone think the Royals will top the 2 million mark for attendance this season? Hasn't happened since 1991.

Averaging about 25K a game? That is pretty tough but if they are legitimately in a race or even leading the division all throughout the season then I say yes. Weekends have always been big nights. With a winning team they will be almost to capacity.

Let's do an all-futility team for the Royals. Players must have played in at least 25 games in one of the last five seasons.

Here is my lineup:

C: Jason Kendall
1B: Ross Gloaf
2B: Yuni
3B: Mark Teahen
SS: Tony Pena Jr.
LF: Gregor Blanco
CF: Josh Anderson
RF: Rick Ankiel
DH: Mike Jacobs

I think I'm too depressed to do pitchers right now, but let's set a minimum of 5 starts in a season to qualify.

Who knows? I will say that after the opening day game, on TV last nights game the stadium looked only about half full.
