Yeah, and Baltimore was a close loss too.

Christ, wake the **** up, dude.

Sorry, I don't see the comparison.

Did we block a punt today? Did we have a fluke interception?

We weren't outgained 2-to-1 like we were in Baltimore.

Average gain per offensive play: 5.4 vs 6.2

Not a huge difference when you get down to it.

If you want to call the late-game rally a fluke, so be it, but Chris Chambers and Dwayne Bowe have been making plays like that their entire NFL careers.

LOL!!! This is awesome! Consider it stolen.

However, it's his 8th game.

If he does this shit next year at this time, flame away.

See here's the problem with that; let's assume the Haoli Chiefs can pull 5 wins next year. You know that result is shit, I know that result is shit. But alas, there will come the "Hey That's Improvement"!-Brigade as sure as the ****ing sun shall rise in the east and set in the west.
And all that does is bring us right back to this moment in time, in this very thread, arguing the same old shit.*
So my point is this:
When it comes to airing grievances against this regime and some of the players in it; there is no right or wrong time, and no better time than the present.

I bet you didn't think they would hold MJD under 100 yards today...

Progress.

*As GoChiefs has so aptly demonstrated for us just a few posts later.

BossChief 11-08-2009 10:09 PM

Jason, if we were drafting tomorrow, who would you be hoping we would select?

Hammock Parties 11-08-2009 11:26 PM

Some of you baffle me.

You would have laughed your ****ing asses off during the week if I said MJD's longest carry would go for 10 yards.

smittysbar 11-08-2009 11:31 PM

We were talking at the bar last night, I thought they would hold him under 120, and a friend was willing to take bets on holding under 100, he was right, and won some money.

I really thought there were some positives on Defense today some of our younger players played pretty well, Dorsey and Jackson played well on the line, Morgan showed some good things... Flowers was good... even Hali did some good stuff today... so I am with you on this one I think the Defense showed some signs of being better today... still not the results you want but a little better

Everyone wants to talk about how bad the roster is and how we have to cut them slack because they're digging out from Peterson and Herm's mess. This is no different from the last Chiefs team. Peterson and Herm thought that roster was capable of being competitive. They thought we could win six or seven with last year's roster.

Pioli and Haley thought we could win eight or more with what they've put out there.

Do they know what it takes to win football games? It takes players. Not signs or media policies or Pentagon-like security or secrets or cursing at the players. Players win football games.

22 guys off the street could win two games. We're halfway home and the Chiefs have one victory.

This is, perhaps, the saddest thing I have ever seen.

WilliamTheIrish 11-08-2009 11:53 PM

I think the issue of defense, some people are mistaken:

IMO: They played hard and they never laid down. That's a +

The defense, while playing hard and not laying down like dogs, still gave up 400+.

It's an important distinction.

Mr. Arrowhead 11-09-2009 12:12 AM

I think todays game proved that Todd Haley hasnt lost this team like some have thought, they played hard til the end, but were just short on the comeback, even you chiefs haters have to admit that.

Duh.

Anyone who thought this team had quit at all this year was just seeing what they wanted to see.

These guys play hard.

but his backup gashed us for a 28 yard td. Its the whole pic, not just the cropped part. I do agree we did better than expected, but thats where it ends.

I admit we would likely score 40/game if we got to play against the prevent/dogs called off defense we faced late in the game.

How many times does it have to be said?

Prevent defense generally PREVENTS long-ass bombs and quick scores.

Give the Chiefs some credit.
