Gonna be a very interesting season in STL now.
Curious as to how big of a distraction this will be throughout the season. |
Pujols, trying to avoid distractions, has no intention of addressing the contract talks when he reports Wednesday to the Cardinals' spring-training camp in Jupiter, Fla. Manager Tony La Russa told reporters Sunday he will also encourage his players to avoid the issue.
"This is a spectacular distraction potentially," La Russa said. "We won't allow it to be." No chit tony. You think because McGuire didn't turn into a distraction this won't. Give me a break. |

Olney's reporting that Albert rejected the Cards offer two weeks ago.

Fans may turn on him. You don't want to be here...fine. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. |
Jesus Christ, give the man his 10 year contract and ****ing be done with it.
Pujols is competitive enough that he'll retire on his own if his skills start to erode. Once he quits, the contract is over. **** me, how dumb are these people? |
I'm already shocked by the number of Cards fans leaving comments on articles and message boards saying don't let the door hit you on the way out. The guy has played at a near unmatched level for a decade for under market value.
But you're right the distraction will be off the charts. Everywhere you go there will be signs saying "Come to (here) Albert!" |
