Cassel WAS the established starting QB ... saying anything else means he's likely on his way out.

I didn't get that. I think they'd like to have him back at a team friendly contract, but it sounded like "Hey, Kyle did a good job, but he's a free agent and he's probably not going to want to come back and compete with Cassel for the job."

What I did get out of it is that Cassel is NOT getting the outright "this is definitely the guy" support he's gotten before...
