I think someone earlier nailed it. AT&T owns them now and they have more $ than God. Plus I'm sure by now they've figured with the NFL as popular as it is for every person who cancels, 5 sign up. At $240 for the year it seems cheaper than some years past but I can't remember. I normally call and angle for a deal as well but since I just got some stuff from them and based on what y'all are saying, maybe I'll just pay it this year and try for a deal next.

I brought that up yesterday and they said the At&T isnt done, and its possible it wont?

There is a gigantic thread in media center, a lot of it focuses on XBMC but there are plenty of other ideas and advice in there~

After having DTVST since it's inception, I bailed for the 10',11' and 12' Nfl seasons. I just followed the Chiefs games via streaming (thanks CP). Last August I got a new gig and the price dropped so I bought in. much better than streaming. Never had any luck trying to get freebies. My personal budget is $300.00 so it's a value right now.

It's under review by the FCC. There's definitely a possibility it will be rejected. Seems like if the feds allow Comcast/Time Warner they have to allow AT&T/DTV, and vice versa if they disallow one they probably disallow both. But who the hell knows.

If I were you guys I'd just wait until it gets closer to the season and they'll likely work with you. And keep trying no matter what. It has to be all about what CSR you get. Make sure it's a girl and be polite. Also, if the vibe isn't a good one just tell them you have to go and then call back in like an hour. Feel out their personalities. They're still giving it away for free this is the fourth year in a row I've gotten it for free. Don't give up!!!

I was thinking, another reason why is probably because I never have any credits on my account all year. A lot of the stories I read on here people have credits on their accounts from previous issues or whatever. I don't know. My only advice is don't give up and get a polite CSR and be nice yourself; and patience.

I cancelled Sunday Ticket around this time last year. About the 3rd week of the regular season they called me up and gave it to me for free out of the blue for the rest of the year. I'd wait and call when it's closer. Maybe keep a few weeks into the season and see what happens?

I just got mine for $31.99 / 6 months for the NFL Sunday Ticket Max package, but I am under contract for another year. I figured they had me over a barrel, other than cancelling. I will get them next year though.

I was mostly pissed that I had equipment that was at least 7 years old, paid equipment maintenance and couldn't get an upgrade without a $200 fee. ST is an extra.

I said something about cancelling because the package was too expensive and my equipment was old and the response was "OK".

If you want a true better deal but to stay with them, cancel, uninstall equipment, send their old crap back, and then have someone else in your household sign up as a new customer.

It is infuriating, but they definitely give better rates to new than long term clients. Terrible business.

I'm hoping that they'll just do what they did last year:

Get Sunday Ticket online when you buy the new Madden.

Did this work if you were a current DTV or ST subcriber?

I think so but the whole thing last year was set up around the 25th anny of Madden. I don't think their gonna start doing that every year
