He might have been better vs the 5, 6, 7 hitters, but Crow would have had the 7th with Davis in the 8th.

Might not have. Impossible to say whether the self-defecation was avoidable or not.

I think it's just frustrating because our bullpen has been nails the last couple years and now they're not.

Yep, I see no scenario where Duffy doesn't start an inning tonight with what might happen on Saturday.

MeatRock 04-30-2014 08:08 PM

100% of the tie game blame belongs to Duffy.

Great Expectations 04-30-2014 08:08 PM

Time for Yost to pull Huchison.

Duffy was coming in regardless. Maybe Ventura has a 10 pitch inning in the 6th, but I have no problem with Ned's call. Duffy has been bad the last two outings, but bringing him in, in that situation, is the right call.

We are going to miss Hoch like a mother****er this year i think.

DeezNutz 04-30-2014 08:09 PM

I think my general rule in terms of starting an inning would be: < 95 the pitcher goes back out. 95 or >, the pitcher sits unless it's late in the year and we're in the heat of the race.

In the former scenario, someone is getting loose in the pen as soon as the inning begins.

Give the starter the chance for a quick inning, but be prepared for a quick hook. Basically pulling the starter at 110 regardless.

Uh, 95%...

We had a chance to get a 3rd run and Gordon hit to the SS where the Ump then proceeded to not enforce the new rule. Bottom line is Alex gets the ball in the air and it's a SAC fly like it most likely should have been.

That's called having a plan and Ned Yost will have nothing of it.

Great....Kelvin about to give the lead away
