there is nothing better than seeing Morales get hot ... I remember the year before his freak injury he started hitting bombs and just never cooled down

Do you guys really like Yost though? It wasn't until probably the ALCS last year that people started thinking that Yost was better than the worst manager in baseball. He was a punchline before then.

Do you guys really think he is a good manager or does he simply have a really good team? I honestly think the latter, but you guys watch more Royals games than I do.

And a huge congratulations to you guys. Yesterday was awesome!

I am not a Royals fan, but I am not one of those Cardinals fans who cant root for the local team. Good luck moving forward!

He has a good team, but the biggest thing he fixed was handling his bullpen.

He stopped sticking with his starters too long. He gave guys defined roles in the pen and stuck to it. And he started using his best guys in high-leverage spots.

This all started after losing games to Boston in which he lost two games in the sixth because he let Crow pitch to a guy with extreme advantage splits vs righthanders, and because he let Scott ****ing Downs pitch to Jonny Gomes.

After those HR swung games, he started saying "**** it" and using his best guys in those spots instead of using 5th and 6th guys.

The players like and trust Yost, and right now, that's all that matters.

Yost also will stick with a guy who is playing well, even if that hasn't translated to numbers. See last night when Cueto was pitching really well, but gave up a couple of runs in the second. Royals Fan wanted him gone, but Ned made the right move.

the Royals are ahead of the curve in another department IMO

...they just started signing GOOD pitchers. They didn't care about having lefties, or righties, or specialists...

Just good pitchers.

We pitched ZERO lefties in the Houston series.

Our big dominican trio ... all righties.

Herrera / Madson / Davis (even Holland) ... righties.

We don't play the splits game. Which I think is fine. When you have dominant righties in the bullpen, like we do ... they are split proof. That's big for Toronto, too ... because they hit lefties better than they hit righties.

The current market inefficiency appears to be youth. See: Cubs, Astros, Royals.

Who can do an overlay of Rogers Centre Stadium and Kauffman Stadium?

Duffy gave up a bomb to Carter game 3. But yes, generally agree with your thesis.

For the Cardinals fan in your life, there are still great items for Postseason gear. Get this "participant" hoody now before they're all gone!

They should add "participant" to the graphic.

I do. I was one of the very last people here who didn't want to fire Yost. Not because I think he's good, but because I always thought he was comfortably average, and the Royals had a long string of very bad managers before him, so I didn't think we'd upgrade if we tried.

Oh, joy!

Joe Buck will call the Royals-Blue Jays ALCS
