Fitting it was the pitching that did the Cards in this season. The hitting was good enough this series but the pitching fell apart.

baseball is an easy sport to hindsight hero it

the fact of the matter is ... runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs is about a 40% success rate for most batters, tops

so going for the safety squeeze represented no more risk than trying to get a sac fly, or base hit ...
