So, was I right to say we should wait for all the details to come out and we didn't know the whole story? I got a lot of crap for saying that.

Why the hell are we still talking about this?

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones Says He Would "Kill" Richie Incognito
Add UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones to the list of people who are not overly impressed with Richie Incognito, the Miami Dolphins player currently embroiled in a bullying scandal. In a radio interview Tuesday with The Junkies on Washington, D.C.'s 106.7 The Fan, Jones told interviewers he would "kill" Incognito if given the chance. "I’d kill him,” Jones said, according to a transcript of the exchange. “Someone tweet him, let him know I’d smoke him. Easy." Though Jones was obviously joking, he did seem aware of and agitated by the public accounts of the drama surrounding Incognito, who was suspended indefinitely by the Miami Dolphins after accusations surfaced that he had bullied teammate Jonathan Martin, who abruptly left the team two weeks ago. The case has made national headlines and added fuel to an ongoing discourse over bullying in the workplace. Incognito, an offensive lineman who was named to the Pro Bowl in 2012, has a long history of behavioral issues and personal problems. While playing football in college, he was dismissed from the University of Nebraska despite his star potential following a litany of personal problems, including multiple fights and spitting on an opposing player. Incognito then transferred to the University of Oregon, but was kicked off the team a week after joining it because of unspecified issues. Despite this baggage, he was drafted into the NFL, where he acquired a reputation for dirty play and confrontation with players and coaches. In the wake of Martin’s departure from the Dolphins, a now-well-publicized voicemail from Incognito surfaced. In the call, Incognito hurled brutal insults at Martin, including a racial slur for African-Americans. Jones, 26, won the UFC light heavyweight title in 2011 and has since defended it six times. His older brother, Arthur, is a defensive lineman for the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens. His younger brother, Chandler, is a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots. |
To which Dana White replied sit down and shut up.

Let's not forget, Jones is a light heavyweight. I don't think there's a human being alive that weighs less than 200 lbs that can take him, I agree. He's a terrifyingly strong, athletic, skilled cat. I still think the only way that guy will lose as a light heavyweight is boredom or laziness. Then eventually age may catch up to him but he's only 26. He'll be around for a long time. But Incognito outweighs him by over 100 lbs. And while he's not the athlete Jones is, he's still an NFL lineman - those guys are pretty much freakishly nimble in their own right. If they fought in the octagon, Richie could probably push him into a corner. At that point sheer mass/strength could do a lot of damage to Jones. There's a reason Jones isn't dying to fight up a weight class - size makes a huge difference. But either way, I know I'd pay to see it... |

is this MMA fad still going on? I figured those guys were all bar bouncers again by now.

That being said, I wrestled 171 and 189 "back in the day" and for some reason they didn't let the 119 and 125 guys kick our asses. Not sure why, I offered it. And oddly enough the one 285 we had, I never challenged. So you point is not lost, Jon is pretty tough, but I think the difference in the ring might be their relative skills in their given professions, and I'm very sure Jon would suck trying to do Richie's job. Perhaps they should agree to settle it over checkers! |
Jones would have Richie knocked cold inside of 30 seconds.
Theres just no comparing an elite MMA fighter to someone without that kind of training. |
Quote:
And at 40 paces, Richie might be able to put a 3-inch pattern in Jones' kill-spot even as he's falling. Once again, so what? The bottom line is Jones needs to shut the **** up and go back to being quiet!! I'll watch him next time his sport is on TV... |
The bottom line is that Jones could do it, just like skinny little Roger Huerta knocked that big black dude out in seconds.

I can't wait for somebody to say the owner cursed in a meeting, the NFL will have to prove they are hypocrits at some level. And man, this is going to make things fun to watch as players sense they are about to be cut (with little chance of getting on somewhere else) - I can only imagine these claims could run rampant... |
Dick Incognito is just being bullied non-stop by a bunch of pussies:
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...m-staffer.html The problems for the Miami Dolphins may soon extend beyond player-on-player harassment. According to two sources, suspended guard Richie Incognito and at least one other player mocked the ethnic background of a team staff member and made crude jokes about the staff member’s wife. According to one of the sources, Incognito would sometimes dress in garb from the staff member’s culture and then make profane jokes about that culture. A second source said that at least one other player joined in on the antics, creating an extremely uncomfortable environment for the staff member. Worse, Incognito said on a number of occasions that the staff member’s wife had sexual relationships with several members of the team. The most troubling element to this is that the behavior was done in view of other team staff members and was allowed to go on without being curtailed by team management or front-office staff. That failure to monitor the situation could create further legal problems for Dolphins management, which will be hard-pressed to claim it was unaware of the workplace environment. The NFL is currently investigating the matter. Attorney Ted Wells has been appointed to conduct the inquiry. A Dolphins spokesman did not immediately respond to a request to comment. Wells has asked the team and players to refrain from discussing the investigation. Follow me on Twitter @JasonPhilCole |

Pretty much have to fire the GM and headcoach.
What a ****ing huge joke that franchise has become this season |
would you want Philbin as the OC of the Chiefs? (Pederson, sucks.) Dolphins have very little talent on offense and still move the ball.
|
Interesting stuff about the Eagles locker room under randy andy.

First off, you have no idea if Pedersen "sucks". He's not given any game day responsibility. He doesn't call plays. His job is to make sure that all of the position coaches prepare their players for Andy's game plan. Secondly, Philbin might as well be AIDS after this season. No team, outside of maybe Green Bay, will want him around. Lastly, Miami is 31st in total offense, Dumbass. |
People are such epic douchebags these days.
I'm certain the children in some war torn 3rd world shithole, bloated from famine and parasites, too tired to blow the flies off of their own eyeballs feel terrible for these grown men who heard naughty words and jokes about their lady friends....because grown men NEVER tease each other about wives-girlfriends-sisters-Moms.... |

HE is 1% of 1% when it comes to having a top education. He is 1% of 1% when it comes to his physical gifts as well. After all this he can make countless millions playing a game before inheriting enough money to buy several small countries but chooses instead to walk out and sue for what will probably amount to more than he would ever have made without having to lift a finger. How people feel sorry for this guy is at this point is just beyond me. Then again we still don't know the whole story so until we do it just really looks bad. |

Richie Incognito is out to clear his name and return to the NFL. The lineman was suspended by the Miami Dolphins in November after allegations of bullying by teammate Jonathan Martin, who left the team because of what he described as constant personal attacks he felt crossed the line of normal locker room banter. After Martin made his first public comments in an interview with NBC Sports on Wednesday, Incognito's attorney Mark Schamel shared details of texts between the two with Fox News. In a statement to Fox News, Schamel noted both players engaged in dialogue that was of "poor taste." Schamel said the texts and voice mail messages exchanged show "banter between friends, not bullying." Incognito's lawyers have insisted a friendship existed between the players, despite the exchange of crude comments. In his interview with NBC Sports, Martin was evasive about his relationship with Incognito, stating that he tried and wanted to be friends, but came up short of answering the question. Martin's spokeswoman, Ann Marchant, told Fox News the crude comments made by Martin were in the context of trying "to be a friend to Richie and to fit in" with the team. Schamel, though, says other texts to Incognito show that Martin was concerned about his on-field performance. "Jonathan Martin also raised concerns with Richie Incognito that he was not playing well, about how upset he was at being ranked by Pro Football Focus as among the worst lineman in the NFL, about his poor performance on the field, his demotion to right tackle and how he was concerned about what the outcome might be for his missing team meetings and about how he felt his job was at risk," Schamel said in his statement to Fox News. "It was only after sharing these concerns, and Martin's abandonment of the team, that the bullying allegations were raised. Rather than deal with his poor on-field performance and myriad other issues, Martin is now hiding behind false allegations." Attorney Theodore Wells is set to release a report next week detailing his investigation of the incidents between Incognito and Martin, as well as the Dolphins' locker room culture. |

Here's what I feel like we know. Incognitos dad claimed Martin was suicidal. The dolphins GM knowing this instructed his players to toughen Martin up instead of handle the situation more delicately. Incognito was one of the main guys asked to carry out the 'code red'. I think the story is increasingly forgiving of incognito, but he doesn't have a good history to necessarily give him the benefit of the doubt. So to me, this still reeks of a completely bone headed way of managing a locker room. |
Yep...it was MArtin making just as vulgar texts. What a loser. His NFL days should be done.

He has Stanford teammates all over. Doug Baldwin, Coby Fleener, etc. Seahawks, Colts, etc will take a flyer on him, Sherman and Luck and his Stanford pals have defended him in interviews all season, and if they have any clout in their respective team locker rooms (they do, come on) they could easily bang the drum for him and vouch. And then embrace him. And that's good PR, bullied boy goes to team that loves him and players that want him... Dolphins are jerks. |
