Alex Smith got a pretty normal QB contract. We won a playoff game so the Smith era was worth it. And now we can get out of his contract next year with almost no cap harm at the same time that Mahomes should hopefully be ready to be the guy. I don't think it was a bad contract at all. I don't think Alex can take us to the next level and I'll gladly move on, but if Mahomes becomes a good QB, I won't regret the Alex Smith era.
