It's not an excuse. Refineries have to change the blend to meet federal (and some state) regulations for the summer. That imposes a cost on them which they pass along to the consumer.

There was an article yesterday on a local site that mentioned Quicktrip making some changes to their business model because they expect a major decrease in fuel consumption in the future.

I was a little surprised by that.

In the future, everyone will stream gas over the internet and will put gas stations out of business like it has everything else.
