I think AL North should stick to making Royals threads w/ those little live updates for the minors. That is where I check in to see how they did.

Its fine, I dont wanna do those threads every day. I didn't even look into this game until about 15 minutes left in the game

Couple minor league notes:

John Lamb left last night's game in the 1st inning and was pointing to his elbow. With his velo also down this season, this is not a good sign. Obviously the worst case here would be Tommy John surgery, and he would be out 12-18 months.

Jeffress will be starting in Omaha after his demotion. Not sure if this is just to give him extra reps to work on his secondaries, or if they are really serious about trying to stretch him out and try him as a starter. Interesting nonetheless.

After last night's game, Moose's line is now up to .275/.358/.514, with a ridiculous May line of .339/.429/.661. Given Picollo's comments yesterday, I expect we will see Moose in KC in early/mid June.

Very interesting article out today.

A couple top pitchers, Dylan Bundy and Trevor Bauer, have asked the Pirates and the Royals not to draft them. (they probably wont go much farther than #5) Why? These two pitchers both train with a long-toss program, they want to continue with long-toss in the majors, and both KC and Pittsburgh do not believe in long-toss.

Long-toss debate shakes up MLB draft

The Royals and Pirates aren't alone. Roughly half of major league teams agree with limiting pitchers to throwing 120 feet due to injury concerns, and the other half of MLB teams allow pitchers to use a long-toss program up to 250-300 feet to build arm strength and speed.

Very interesting......i could think of several other reasons why someone would not want to be drafted by those teams. Wonder if its just an excuse?

I'd believe in whatever Nolan Ryan preaches.

Hardly, this is a real controversy. The people who believe in long-toss are absolutely convinced that they will suck if they are forced to stop.

If anything, you'd want to be drafted by the Royals since they seem to be proving they have no problem fast-tracking prospects up and not worrying about letting someone qualify as a super-two.

There's very little evidence to suggest whether it helps or hurts, but you can obviously see why the Royals wouldn't want pitchers to regularly throw 250 feet.

I love how Jason Kendalls name is on the All-Star ballot. In this day and age of instant technology is it really that hard to update those things by the time voting starts?

Jason Kendall's inactivity makes him an All-Star to me. If he stays out all year, I'll support him for MVP.

Using a scalpel to remove the top layer of skin from your fingertips, then soaking them in pickle brine.

I wouldn't. So many players are so full of ****ing shit it's unbelievable, especially the ones who are physical freaks of ****ing nature.

Regarding long toss...I don't know. My background includes it, but damn I can see where some would think it's excessive.

They do. In fact I wish that was the only way you could vote and that each ML club recieved the exact same # of ballots.
