ROFL.....do they still do the punch out cards at the stadiums??

I was talking about the on-line ballot... which has even less of an excuse to have Kendall on it.

They do. In fact I wish that was the only way you could vote and that each ML club recieved the exact same # of ballots.

Back in the day when that was the only way to vote, I'd go to about 30 games a year, when seats in the bleachers cost a buck, and turn in a ballot with each visit.

Bundy's agent has since refuted the claims that he asked the Royals not to draft him, so that's good.

This draft is going to be interested. Very loaded, but a lot of uncertainty about what will be done at the top. With the consensus 1-2 guys coming into the season (Anthony Rendon and Garrit Cole) both having off years, things have opened up a little.

Last year, Rendon would have been drafted in front of Bryce Harper. Same with Cole. I've read some scouting reports that suggest Rendon could stick at 2B. That would be a pretty incredible stick at 2B.

And as for long toss... I'm a believer in it. My dad started it (Quote: "If you're playing catch, you're trying to stretch your arm out so you can throw harder and farther.). My coaches kept with it.

I threw pretty hard by the time I hit high school.

I think the more important thing is being adaptable to each pitcher. Some guys, long-toss works best for. Some, it doesn't.

Anyway, on the draft.... I still really like Trevor Bauer, but it seems like the ROyals don't. I think the Royals go high school upside with either Bundy or Starling. If neither of those guys is available, that means either Cole or Rendon likely is (which is a huge win for us).

Interesting. I can't say I know much about the benefits or draw backs of long toss but my first reaction was that it was a silly excuse... but maybe the teams that are against it are silly.

The long toss being debated and the long toss that most of us know are two very different things, though.

These guys are throwing foul pole to foul pole, which is ridiculously demanding. Most people simply cannot make that throw.

Seems a bit ridiculous in that case.

It's intense. I wasn't a non-athlete (read: pitcher) but I couldn't keep up with this type of throwing regiment. My ****ing arm would have fallen off.

I played baseball through high school and I was an ok player but I can't imagine the toll it seems foul pole to foul pole could take on a pitcher. I get the idea of it... just seems unnecessary to me.

I pitched in high school and I still throw in a wood bat league once a week during the summer. Long toss can be great for building up your arm as long as it is monitored properly.

Why do you say this?

Moore was at Bauer's start this past weekend.

The bonus babies are all starting to get promoted now....

In the last week, Yordano Ventura, Jason Adam, Cheslor Cuthbert, and now Orlando Calixte have been promoted to Kane County. Cuthbert has 2 HRs already in his first four games.

Has Wilson Betemit ever played 2nd base?

Yes, but not a lot. A total of 18 games started at 2B through his career.

It's a transition the Royals might want to consider next month when they bring up Mousetakas.

They are getting minimal production from Getz/Aviles offensively, and neither even remotely resemble a Gold Glover defensively.

What about bringing up Giavotella?
